The BBC has created an electric zombie Agatha Christie in order to sell writing classes. This is stomach-churningly awful, and the sooner this stupid, useless, frankly evil bubble bursts, the better. Disgusting.

New episode out today! We catch up with former scuba diver Nicholas Summers, who has emerged from his coma and started a new business venture. Featuring the excellent @mrcodydahler.bsky.social maximumfun.org/episodes/bee...

Dood. FedEx. Do you need me to call you a cab? Spoiler alert: Oakland is not the hub for my area.

Apple Music used to ask "Yes" or "Not Now." Now it's "Accept" or "(search for the low-contrast X in the corner)." I assume the next iteration will read "SUBMIT", with no second option.

Ah yes. Talbot Yancy's nephew, Stan.

Yep, the opening to Erasure's "Chorus" still makes me want to play Metroid.

Do tell, Google: What's the risk to the community of bots watching your videos? Or are you afraid of bots you don't control being trained on "your" data? Fascinating.

This is just perfection. Shut down the internet for the day, we already have a winner.

I'm not saying I expected the movie "Y2K" (2024) to be rigorously accurate, but it was fun to spot this goof of Ubuntu Linux in 2000.

We had a fantastic time watching this. If you have the opportunity to see it, please do! (The tour is just starting!) www.eddieizzardhamlet.com

Show me a corporate lawyer that trusts any LLM with an important decision, and I'll show you a bad lawyer.

This story fails to mention the reason they couldn’t open the doors to save the people who died. Cybertruck doors can’t be opened from the outside when the electrical isn’t working, like when they’re on fire.

How does this infantile dilettante, this connoisseur of ritual sycophancy continue to find new ways to embarrass himself? tech.yahoo.com/general/arti...

The big surprise here is that DoD still has an (acting) inspector general, and apparently even one with a backbone. Musk tried really hard to get rid of all of those, so he and the teen cybercriminals could operate in the shadows. www.theregister.com/2025/04/04/h...

"we want our code to be readable" like dude, English is a bizarre nonsense language and you want your code to be more like that

The Department of Government Efficiency, for example

Show me an AI a corporate lawyer will trust with any important decision, and I'll show you a bad lawyer.

It is truly mind boggling how closely the DOGE script is to the devastation of Twitter. Right down to the public humiliation at an event that “technically… was 90% & 10% boos”. Cannot recommend “Character Limit” by @rmac.bsky.social and @kateconger.com highly enough

Can't believe I didn't do this years ago: Linux on an iMac, even one as "old" as 2011 (an extremely powerful machine) is a glorious experience & the intractable obsolescence problems of OS X just go away. Beautiful 27" screen. & Deskflow works perfectly making it a 2nd screen 4my existing work Mac

👇 linux is far better for ageing Macs (say ... > 4 years old) than struggling with OS X and its built-in obsolescence believe me, i've tried to persevere with OS X it has been a total waste of time

magician: *pulls tiny rabbi out of a hat* me: that's a little unorthodox

Mozilla solicits feedback on its advertising and AI policies, and is flooded by negative reactions. Mozilla responds by adding vertical tabs.

This is so good. “I want efficiency towards an end, towards a vision of the future that imagines more for us.” #ezraklein
