When...did it become irrational to dislike religion, even to dislike it vehemently? When did reason get redescribed as unreason? A religion is an idea. It stood (or fell) because they were strong enough to withstand criticism, not because they were shielded from it. Strong ideas welcomed dissent.

I think Matt Gaetz was instructive for the no-guardrails era. Gaetz got some bad coverage on Fox News, leading to Trump relenting. I think the only thing that can move Trump is bad coverage on Fox. They got rid of the stock ticker on Friday. If they finally report bad things this week, who knows?
