No, we really don’t. 🙄

The mass firing of both new hires and recently promoted senior staff within #NOAA, including mission-critical and life-saving roles at the National Weather Service (#NWS), is profoundly alarming. 1/11

Mood.

NEW: The SAVE Act, a right-wing bill requiring nationwide proof of citizenship for voter registration, could potentially disenfranchise millions. Michigan Democratic officials warn passing the legislation would be like "taking a chainsaw to our democracy."

You looking at me! The answer is a resounding yes, because it's hard to take your eyes off beautiful - and cheeky - little Sulwe. Born on Christmas Day 2024, Sulwe is the 70th known calf to be born to an orphan we have rescued and raised, in her case, mothered by Sonje.

Iowa has the second highest incidence rate of cancer in the country, and it is already feeling Trump's cuts to the workforce and research institutions trying to solve the rural cancer problem.

If y'all need a cut or bruise looked at during the parades tonight, I'll be EMTing it up at the LCMC clinic at St. Charles and St. Andrew

If you could find a way to generate electricity from Ronald Reagan spinning in his grave you'd be able to power the Eastern Seaboard right now.

Good lord, I took a few hours away to apply for jobs and come back to a true horrorshow.

Why don’t you wear a suit?

GLENN: Why don't you wear a suit? You're at the highest level in this country's office & you refuse to wear a suit. A lot of Americans have problems with you not respecting the office. ZELENSKYY: I will wear a costume after this war will finish. Maybe something like yours. Maybe something better.

The bust of Sir Winston Churchill sits in Trump's Oval Office. He was an immensely brave leader who visited Washington, dressed in fatigues, seeking support against a despot. We all know what he would have made of today's unedifying spectacle and whose side he would have been on.

I want everyone to know that screaming match in the Oval Was all for Russia TV that was there

I have lived in Nova Scotia most of my life and one thing some people do not realize is how beautiful our beaches are here, we have over 40 saltwater beaches across this incredible Province. My favourite ones below: Stoney Island Beach /1

Muffins are so important because they're the very best way to eat a piece of cake for breakfast without everybody asking you if you're okay

The hardest working people in these parades are the kids…

I am at Stein’s Deli and it is packed with out of towners in Mardi Gras outfits.

The goal is to terrorize federal workers into quitting. That’s it. Constant changes. Canceling work from home then closing offices. Laying off probationary employees. It’s designed to break the government. Then privatize it for profit. It’s not efficiency. It’s collapse. Only peasants will suffer.

“The GDPNow model estimate for real GDP growth (seasonally adjusted annual rate) in the first quarter of 2025 is -1.5 percent on February 28, down from 2.3 percent on February 19.” www.atlantafed.org/cqer/researc...

Aiming for more privatization?

After 513 days in our rescue, I am overjoyed and very emotional to say that Ash & Willow finally have a pending adoption. They’ll be staying with us just a little longer while we get everything coordinated, but their future is looking brighter than ever. I’m so happy for these tenacious, sweet kids.

Been waiting 39 minutes for my vac appt at CVS.

“This is not a move toward efficiency; it’s a move toward putting Americans in danger every day.”

A seasoned Foreign Service employee tells me they've lost access to all these news sites, despite having paid subscriptions: Politico The Economist New York Times Bloomberg Associated Press Reuters And this week, they just lost access to Financial Times, too. Despite paid subscription.

NEW: Per a source, the firings of probationary employees hit NOAA's office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (OAR) today. It includes not just newer young scientists but people at the top of their field who have been there for years but were technically probationary for admin/not-relevant reasons.

There goes the neighborhood. NEPA basically just says you need to think about the environment before you do stuff, consider alternatives, and write it down. Ya know, the bare minimum of conscientiousness and good stewardship. www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

If they want to keep shoving women back into the kitchen, I bet we could find about 75000 ways to put your entire meal in gelatin. Nothing says June Cleaver like pot roast and peas in Jello-O.

If you're looking to transition your cat to indoor-only due to H1N1, great! There are many other benefits, too. But it may not go well if you just shut them in and call it a day, you need to commit to giving them an enriched indoor environment with lots of play. felineengineering.com/blog/indoor-...
