The G is more like the Y in ”You”, rather than the English J or hard G. The V is like Vile. So, wall, but with the smooth V. ”Beryvile”. I realize this is not helping…

For me, this is to be expected as players are getting back. Will take a while for it to gel again. I’m mostly happy that they clawed back a point.

I’ve been thinking the same thing for a while now, and this certainly feeds my confirmation bias.

Just missing Kinsky, but probably the right choice to leave him for the PL/FA Cup, and Austin hasn’t done too bad.

Well, that scenario could be tampered with. Ange doesn’t have access to the mainframe.

Indeed. We will not magically be fixed when everyone comes back. I keep banging on (in my head) about the fact that we are still smack in the middle of a complete rebuild.

Still have to give it some time, will take a while for everyone to get up speed.

Was expecting us to lose, but a bit disappointed that we didn’t put up more of a fight (even if we are knackered).

Thanks. Sorry for being lazy. Anyway, if they don’t want to come I’m not too disappointed. Bit worrisome though. We are fishing in waters above our current perceived level.

No worries. I have been accused of being ”annoyingly positive”, which I guess is the other side of the coin.

The topic, or the platform?

Thanks! I should stress that I’m not sarcastic.

Yes, but I don’t agree that the tactics is the main or even a problem (but that is just my opinion, which I guess is clear).

Nice piece, as always. It is not that I particularly like the situation, but I have decided to embrace the pain of this rebuild. Lots of pods and takes that have decided that Ange is out of his depth and inept tactically, but no one is explaining how and why. ”Iraola is a proper manager”, and so on.

Getting a bit misty-eyed here in Sweden.

I feel strangely liberated by the poor run. It has tempered my expectations, yet I still know that we can turn anyone over on our day.

Perhaps not important, but what are they saying?

Just want to give some appreciation for the civil and balanced discussion! I believe the current pain is both necessary and difficult to avoid.

I’m curious how ”injury-proneness” is assessed when scouting. Resilience may become a salient attribute to have for a player (at least as long as squad sizes remain the same).

The similarities to Newcastles CL season is striking. The difference in narrative surrounding that context is equally striking.

I really hope it evens out over the upcoming period. Even with players coming back, I worry that it will take a while for fatigue to subside and those returning to get up to speed again.
