Yeah ironically YouTube is the one social media algorithm I actually use and enjoy. I usually go through my subscription feed, and then browse recommendations. I’ve found a number of great channels that way (including the creator Alec linked in the OP). But RSS is still nice for reducing YT use.

You should do an explainer on RSS feeds! They’re a technology I guess. I feel like they deserve a comeback, and the anti-algo movement is the perfect catalyst. But really more people just need to know about them!

Binoculars. I always used those tiny 10x25 pocket binoculars because they’re the cheap option.
Finally tried out a good pair of 8x42 and it’s like a night and day difference. Literally. The brightness, clarity, and colors on a good pair of binoculars will ruin all others for you.
