From the scanner right now: LAPD is taking rubber bullets from LASD. I am not joking. (They're in each other's crossfire, it's a clusterfuck that they've largely brought on themselves)

In a cloud of tear gas a distorted-sounding announcement that police forces have declared this a riot. The protesters chant “this isn’t a riot!” in response. Listen I have a mask on but there’s so much tear gas my armpits are burning. This is my truth.

People use their own phones to call Congressmen, but have communal partners and encouragement. One large sign outside: CALL YOUR CONGRESSMAN. I think people will be more inclined to make these calls if they are doing it among friends, a group activity. Any thoughts?
