European regulatory regime* my bad.
comment in response to post
This is all gonna end so hilariously badly for them that I'm not sure what scenario for how they imploding is the most likely anymore and tbh I'm excited. Trump declaring war in European trade regime(yes he did that) is however gonna end predictably badly with ACI activation. I need more popcorn.

Look. I know that's horrible and all, plus the human wi be immense. But also the repercussions of doing that.

Pretty sure the reason it's not on fire in is that there just isn't anything left on the thing to burn at this point.

I made the right call selling my America DIB stocks and buying European didn't I.

Oh I don't just blame this group of non-voters for the outcome. I blame every eligible to vote American who either didn't vote, protest vote or voted gop. Same thing. It just that the non-voters concerned about warcrimes in Palestine is most vocal about not taking responsibility for their actions.
comment in response to post
I mean, refusal to accept responsibility for your actions doesn't eliminate your culpability.
comment in response to post
Not voting is arguably the option that results in more blood on your hands, not just Palestinian, but now also Ukrainian having to deal with a hostile trump admin and the victims of the destruction of usaid. Lack of action does not lessen your culpability, in fact it arguably has done the opposite.

Then just bribe the people around him

The trolley problem comes to mind.
comment in response to post
People who refuse to vote generally refuse acknowledge that the blood spilled by the winner of the election is on their hands. Just as much as it is on those who voted for the winner.
comment in response to post
I mean, I've sometimes wondered why the EU doesn't just bribe the man. Seems to be both the easiest and the cheapest way to deal with his stupid ass.
comment in response to post
Very much think that would just cause enough cognitive dissonance that they simply wouldn't be able to process the information.

We can't hope and pray every 4 years that the treatlers in swing states just feel good that day. Much less hitch our entire security architecture on that. That is just not viable FP, so until the US comprehensively shows it's reliable again, alliances with the US would be a fool's errand.
comment in response to post
Exactly, when talking about FP we cannot assume the best. So Americans that want us allies to "just hold on for 4 years" fundamentally misunderstand how FP works. The US has shown twice now that it is willing to elect an fascist as president. That is the America we have to plan our FP around.

Ie. a vote for all candidates. So blood spilled by the winner is on the hands of the non-voter, regardless of how much they may refuse to accept responsibility, for their actions or lack thereof.
comment in response to post
A vote is an endorsement of a specific candidate, who you agree with the most, wielding the states monopoly on violence. A non-vote(or a protest vote) is a vote saying all candidates is worthy of wielding the state.

Vibes based warcrime accusations will be the downfall of civilization.

Well it takes a while to get burns while touching something hot. So maybe that's finally happening.

The UK doesn't stupid shit? Who could've seen it coming. Not like they have a recent history of shooting themselves in the feet over, and over, and over again.
comment in response to post
This idea that democracy means the candidate has to align with your choices on everything exactly and not voting so is a valid option. It is almost about the choosing the lesser evil according to your moral compass.

Something something there was informed speculation that putin was sleeping with murdoch's wife back in the day.

Nice. Yeah that's gonna be good.

Reform is concerning and will likely hold more seats in a few years, whether they are gonna be in gov is unknown. AfD seems to be a structural ceiling of 20%, and the verdict in Le pen & Co's EU embezzlement case is coming march 31st. So things seem bleak at first glance, but not all is lost.

This man is just on a mission to alienate every single ally the US has isn't he.
comment in response to post
I was about to say, if that's all it's gonna take the rest of the world would be exceedingly forgiving.

Fuck.

Please America, give the EU a reason to trigger the ACI, i beg of you.

yeah, polling here has 46% of danes viewing the US as a threat to our security, second only to russia. iran and north korea sitting at 44% and 40% respectively. It's wild how quickly perception of the US has shifted after trumps fuckery, even after the 100+ years of good relations.

best way to describe the reasons for the existence is "fucking pathetic" and thats frankly what pisses me off the most about them.

and then sanctions will be thrown the other way across the atlantic, to predictable effect on both economies.

Because it's really helpful to the strength of the dollar that he has to say this. Right?
comment in response to post
I was gonna say that wouldnt happen because itd cause a rebellion within the GOP, but uh its the gop so i dont even know anymore.
comment in response to post
Now obviously it wont happen overnight, but a europe that spends 3-5% of gdp on defence is a europe that doesnt need the US in the long run as a domestic DIB is spun back up. So getting europeans to be able to def ourselves, might in effect be the US shooting itself in the foot with a shotgun.
comment in response to post
Given the proposed rate of self-dissassembly by the federal gov who knows how much longer that is going to last. Additionally, with the massive increases to def spending in europe, we might soon be in a sitch where the US's erratic FP is enough of a liability to break the transatlantic alliance.
comment in response to post
I mean it works... But the effects of the us being hostile might not be exactly beneficial.

If he was any smart he should realize that comment is an anchor on which you can report all the other shit he is doing. "the man called himself a king and look at what he is doing to your country while doing so"
