Not so long ago, I would have disagreed with using such comparisons. But as Trumpās administration rolls on, there are more and more parallels with the rise of the Nazi Party in pre war Germany. Itās frightening to watch!

Simpering toadies. Not one has the backbone to question their
Führer. The most appalling group of invertebrates ever to hold office in the US Government

Meaningless on its own I know, but me and my family have cancelled established plans to visit the US this year. We love the country but hate Trump and the way his administration have already sullied a lovely country and its standing abroad. We may be inconsequential but if all tourist do the same? š¤

Hesgeth, is a snivelling Trump toady who will do anything to please his master. Copying Trumpās infantile messaging style, throwing unnecessary CAPITAL letters about, like heās thumping the table as he types. Hitlerās subordinates used to scrabble desperately for his approval just as Trumpās do.

And then pointing the finger of blame at someone else.

Trump shows no statesmanship or political intelligence whatsoever. Heās a name calling playground bully who denies responsibility for his actions and blames someone else. Heās a generational embarrassment to the US. Trumpās administration has caused divisions that will take decades to recover from.

Amongst the bizarre collection of embarrassing imbeciles that now make up the USA govt administration, RFK Jr ranks as one of the most ridiculous. He refuses to accept the findings of generations of brilliant scientists, instead choosing to believe utter twaddle that someone once told him in a bar.

The murderous attack by Hamas was disgusting and evil on every level. But so is Israelās treatment of innocent Palestinians. How can a people who have been so victimised over many centuries, inflict so much pain and suffering on another group of people?

Jesus Christ! Anonymous armed men on the street, detaining people, without warrants, without identifying themselves. This is the USA, not Nazi Germany or some third world dictatorship! The world is watching and see exactly what Trumpās administration is all about. What a shameful disgrace!

Itās the initial, confusion and bewilderment that makes me laugh. We seem incapable of thinking, āOh, things have moved.ā Instead we stare, open jawed, thinking,āWhat? Where? How?Whatās happening?ā Are we somnambulant sheep, or what! š

I donāt wish any ill on normal Russian people. But Iām pleased to see Putin humiliated in this fashion. He denies his public any truth, drowning them in dishonest propaganda. Surely the loss of expensive aircraft canāt be hidden, or easily/cheaply replaced. Sanctions need to be ramped up on Putin.

Germans have seen, all too well, a comparable slide into authoritarian rule. Following a familiar route, Trump has attacked intellectuals, universities, independent judiciary, weaponised the media and provided scapegoats for the public to vilify. Trump is a malignant cancer at the heart of the US.
comment in response to

Just as in the US, our media are culpable for allowing right wing reactionary politicians many more opportunities for promotion than they democratically deserve. Some media clearly has an agenda and promoting divisive grifters like Trump and Farage is plainly a path they choose to take.

The UK public are very much āon the side of Canadaā. Trump is reviled and ridiculed here in equal measures. We have a few right wing toadies, like Nigel Farage, who suck up to him hoping it will increase their cache. It wonāt!

A necessity of life turned into cash cow by the greedy ideology of the Conservative Party. No competitors, no alternative, consumers rinsed by a company raising pricing at will and loading more and more debt despite paying out billions in dividends and bonuses. Our utilities should belong to us all.

I certainly hope so. But the rest of the world is seeing no tangible opposition to Trumpās disastrous administration whatsoever. If the Democrats stood up, the world would be behind them.
comment in response to

What the hell is wrong with the Democrats? They are facilitating a disastrous authoritarian administration that is destroying everything thatās good about the USA. The Democrats are culpable.

Sadly, I feel this is very true and the reason voters are truly disenchanted with politics and politicians. There is no meaningful debate, no compromise and no putting the well being of oneās people first.

Itās truly bizarre! Itās like watching a hideous car crash in slow motion, with people cheering from the sidelines. How will the USA get rid of this appalling administration and move forward?

We shelved plans to visit the States and are heading to South America instead. Love the US and the wonderful people I have met there over the years, but I wonāt be returning while the Trump administration is in office. I hate the effect they are having on a great country and the rest of the world.

Johnsonās smirking lies in Parliament, his ludicrous false promises and his lack of moral compass began the Conservative free fall to political obscurity. Tory arrogance further alienated the public, allowing slugs like Farage to manipulate voters into believing that they offer an alternative.

Every time Trump writes or says something, my heart sinks a little at the sheer lunacy of people actually voting him into office, and the lack of accountability now heās there. The man is an incompetent narcissist who has proved himself to be a threat to everything the free world holds dear.

Trumpās government is the biggest bunch of shabby, corrupt grifters ever seen. The world sees it. Why canāt the media and loud mouthed Republicans who would foam at the mouth at the merest suspicion of impropriety by previous Democrat incumbents. MAGA f-wits, ever get the feeling youāve been cheated?

So many parallels, controlling the media for instance. For Goebbels read Musk.

Trump has surrounded himself with people thicker than he is, so he can feel superior. The world can see the result.

Criticising Israelās killing of innocent Palestinians is NOT condoning the appalling murder of innocent Israelis by Hammas. Claiming so is lazy deflection by Netanyahu.

The GB interviewer desperately trying to get the fisherman to say something positive to fit in with her, laughably titled News Channelās, agenda. This is the reality we are all aware of.
comment in response to

Absolutely spot on! Grubby, self serving opportunists are scrambling to profit from the spiralling decline from the moral high ground to a right wing authoritarian cesspool of Trump and Muskās making. Where are the opposition voices? The World outside the US is watching in disbelief.
comment in response to

The betrayal was perpetrated by Johnson, Farage et al and their deceitful, client media. Their lies, ludicrous promises and hateful rhetoric conned a nation of turkeys into voting for Christmas. The UK has suffered enough for their self-serving, ideological dishonesty. Itās time to move forward.

ICE operatives go home to families and loved ones just like everyone else. Theyāll compartmentalise and justify their heinous actions in their own minds. Watch Ordinary Men: The "Forgotten Holocaust" on Netflix. An eye opening account of how a regime can induce everyday people to do appalling things

Theyāve caused pain and friction over many years, especially under the blinkered agenda of Murdock & Rothermere. The drip, drip of disingenuous half truths and downright lies have misled the public and helped drag the UK down a far worse path than it could have travelled. Musk did the same in the US

Truly ridiculous that such a gobshite could be POTUS.
comment in response to

We have appalling media like Axios in the UK too. Certain outlets, with undisclosed financial backing, pushing disingenuous click bait to manipulate voters. We have a ghastly, sycophantic Trump fan-boy called Nigel Farage. His Reform Party are gaining traction by spreading hatred and division.

Every time Trump opens his mouth, the World shakes its head in disbelief that such an asinine human being could fool a nation into voting for him. He has installed an administration of bumbling, incapable half-wits who have set about ruining a nationās legacy. Trump is petulant brat, not a president

The world realised Biden wasnāt up to the rigours of another election campaign. But he certainly was/is a far better president, statesman and human being than Trump will ever be. Biden left the US and the world in a better place. Trumpās destroying the very framework which made the US preeminent.
