Congrats Matthew! What a beautiful cover too.

At this point it feels mandatory in any and every talk, sadly.

Really looking forward to listening to this later!

Suno kinda does this - it samples a portion of the song (you select), and spins something out of that. Often goes *very* off-piste.

Thanks Kate! I’m in some very esteemed company there!

I often wonder whether it’s worth pitching it again.

Thanks Darren. I fear this won’t be the end of it. It’s very exhausting.

I'm still fuming that there are certain people involved in that study framing this as "this is the consensus, other voices are extremes, like climate deniers". It's irritated me all week.

Same. The first version of unlocked’s front cover looked like a bargain basement crime novel

It appeared twice, astoundingly

There are worse roads this could go down, based on past experience.

I actually find this take pretty offensive, Jay. I wasn’t invited to take part in the paper. Am I an extreme voice outside the consensus now? What about other experts not invited or who declined for good reason? This feels wrong.

Consensus doesn’t/shouldn’t come from opinion alone, it should be based on convergent evidence, which there isn’t here (as the paper shows). I have real concerns about this paper being used to stymy the debate, as already it seems that anyone disagreeing with it is being painted as a ‘denialist’.

Tom is the exception to the rule and is a brilliant journalist who I always have time for, but I and colleagues have had numerous bad encounters with others over the past year

The Times seems incapable of writing anything sensible or interesting about tech.

Blue was the first edition from last year. Yellow is the smaller mass market paperback edition, but it’s the same book.
