I haven’t shown these larger paintings anywhere yet, this is a first! So far there are five in this series, working on the sixth. Looking for a place to exhibit these in the Norrtälje area. 🌟 #watercolor #painting #sweden #artist #painter #väsen #nature

Just one day for #ModelTrainShow2025 See you at #Ottersgrove #BSMGRUK

We’re primed and ready for some model railway running this weekend!!!

Slough Of The Day

Starting at midnight? What is this? Another night on test train duties that’s what, testing out new signalling equipment on HS1 today. This is the part where we do some things we wouldn’t normally to test the system’s reactions i.e passing red signals (with a safe system of work naturally)

This weekend, worldwide, it is #ModelTrainShow2025 - the biggest model train show ever! It’s on social media ( use the hashtag!) so you don’t even need to leave the house!! #modeltrains #scalemodelling #modelrailways #BritishRail #Latchmere

Happy Saturday bluesky!!!!

Guess the London Underground Station? Hello let's play another guessing game. We will again focus on a single tube station. Good luck! Please do reshare/tag this with anyone who'd enjoy guessing! Many thanks Answer on Sunday #photography #london

Just a hint of mist below. The scene from St Michael's tower on Glastonbury Tor earlier this morning. I even had company who watched me as I watched the scene below.

The unsaleable bed of Brixton Rd. It has been at the front of the shop for at least three years, unappealing and unadmired. 🥲

This isn't an exclusive It's bullshit, written based on some PR puff from Getlink Tip for next time: speak to someone who's NOT in one of the companies implicated, then you might avoid writing such rubbish Oh and your map's wrong #CrossChannelRail

Clubman to Birmingham Chiltern Railways Class 168 Clubman 168004 is seen passing Princes Risborough with a London Marylebone to Birmingham Moor Street service on 18/02/2025.

Behold: Rufus, the large and in charge fully grown 50/50 Norwegian Forest Cat mix, and Mochi, an apprentice floof still growing into his Maine Coon paws. One is a king. The other? A dedicated member of the #OneBrainCell club. (Thread: 1/7) #Cat #CatsOfBluesky #Caturday

Whatever is happening in the world, life’s river flows regardless. There is beauty around us in all things if we learn to pause and look deeply. May your day be peaceful. ☺️ #nature #river #trees #calm #peace #explore #walk #mindfulness #life #photography

Went for a walk on the Castlefield Viaduct and I saw one of the rare trains that actually uses the Ordsall Viaduct in Manchester. Terrific use of money for one train per hour! 🤦🏻‍♂️

The steam heat boiler is certainly working on this unidentified Class 47 at Perth. The picture is undated but believed to be very early 1980s and the train is likely to have been an evening Glasgow Queen Street to Perth service

It's October 1993 and Class 37 37275 breaks cover into the sun at Springburn Works in Glasgow having been 'shopped' in BR Blue livery. It has also gained the 'Our Wullie' nameplates.

Mick Lynch wants a progressive wealth tax with the richest paying the same as everyone else on PAYE, 47%. That would bring in hundred of billions, it is time for the richest to pay what everyone else has been paying their whole lives.

On May 6th 1989 a three-car Class 104 DMU set N699 (BX487) formed of 53528+59187+53454 pictured at Buxton with a service for Manchester Piccadilly suitably promoting the last planned day of Class 104 operation on the route

A couple of British Rail publicity images from our archives for InterCity Sleepers and from the launch press pack for the Class 150 Sprinters

This is a British Railways Board official photograph believed to be from the early 1970s. Identification is not easy but the Class 47 looks to be 1505 (which became 47406) and at a guess I would suggest location is southbound somewhere south of Welwyn on the East Coast Main Line

If you want to fight back against injustice, do it under your own name. Posting memes, & using anonymous accounts, have as much impact as a sheep bleating. They merely indicate to those under threat, such as trans & other LGBTQ ppl, cowardice.

I like knowing where my marbles are. Although I think there may not be quite as many as there used to be..

The more complete of the two surviving TSR.2 airframes, XR220 was due to make its first flight on the morning of 6 April 1965, but was delayed due to a faulty fuel pump. That afternoon, all work on TSR.2 was suspended and the project later cancelled. XR220 remained on the ground forever more.
