I have always loved them, as they are such a wonderful public institution that literally saves lives, but even more so this year. I held Vampire Games Day (a day of vampire-themed roleplaying games) in a 19th century library.

Libraries were a lifesaver when I was growing up in Middlesbrough.

How are you finding life in the UK? Did you make it to the UK Games Expo last month?

This happens all the time with humans. Someone suggests a different route and two hours later Mountain Rescue are called out, unless another recommends not going off trail. Now we will have people assuming that the AI will provide accurate responses and blindly following what it says...

Especially for online games.

Interested to hear how tables are equipment and abilities are narrated. I imagine the background lore and storytelling chapters of a TTRPG book would translate quite well.

I much prefer playing in-person. 70% of all communication is non-verbal and there are subtleties in body language that we can miss over the internet. Also, there is something gloriously tactile about giving players handouts that they can look at together.

It will only increase capacity if people use it, but the extra costs of using them will preclude many.

In that case, why not upgrade our existing train services and abandon the costly HS2 line?

Birmingham to London is all they are promising. Anything beyond that us pure conjecture. Is half an hour off journey times really enough of an incentive to justify the additional costs? Most commuters will probably use existing services. www.hs2.org.uk/map/

HS2 has been cut back and only goes to Birmingham, reducing the commute time by 35 minutes. That's it...

I am not still convinced on cost-benefit to HS2, compared to upgrading our telecommunications infrastructure or our existing rail network.

I remember a panelist at the first Alt.Fiction encouraging the audience to stop waiting for approval and just do it. It is a sentiment I have taken to heart and has never failed me yet.

Going to admit that I feel conflicted about Clair Obscur. It looks amazing and has fantastic writing, but it is incredibly complex and I never feel like I fully understand what is happening...
