I did something like this with Warlock of Firetop Mountain and the Fighting Fantasy system that it contained. We came up with all sorts of extra rules and addons.

Let's pull "What system should a proper Star Wars/Star Trek ttrpg use" out and blow the dust off that one.

But those are two of the eight entries on the "Spin the wheel of weekly TTRPG arguments on social media". How can we spin the wheel with only six topics remaining?

I've been seeing some ads but that's probably the algorithm feeding me more than anything because I like most Marvel stuff. I'm tired of seeing the "DEI woke Iron Man" bullshit from the usual assholes. It's become so obvious they never actually read any the comics they bitch so much about.

He was already blocked because of one of the lists I subscribe to. Hopefully more folks block him instead of responding to his BS.

Nah, to he'll with that bitch. They all make fun of others suffering, so they deserve the same in return.

It'll all be out of the shrinkwrap this coming Saturday! We'll be doing a canned food drive and a charity auction as well.

There's a streaming service called 'Raygun' that has this. At least they did a while back, been a while since I've logged in there. It's a huge collection of public domain and bad movies. We were watching it nightly for a while.

Really hard to find common ground with people who want my daughter to not exist. Those who would rather children starve than to feed them. Those who think anyone with a different skin tone need to be disappear from their communities.

Religious folks are all like "Gospel moving into pop music is great" but at the same time be like "HipHop folks doing country is a terrible thing".

33+ million active accounts on Bluesky. He's mad because many of them tell Nazi's to fuck off.

There was tons of bootleg Nintendo merchandise being sold at flea markets and carnival/fair grounds in the 80s. It could be from that time.

There's been lots of internet issues today. Especially for companies that use the Google cloud to host their services. Don't know who they host DnD Beyond through but that may be part of the problem.

Sorry this went on longer than I wanted it to. Just needed to rant after seeing some bullshit. Folks we're all in this hobby together, but we all won't agree on what the proper way to do things are. So just get over it already. Roll some dice. Have some fun. Leave others alone.

Mainly because it sounds like something they may like. #PbtA? That's my definition of 'not fun' at the game table. But I still point out the games that use it to people who like that kind of system.

It's not edition wars anymore, it's edition temper tantrums. You know what, I don't like the new version of #Kult, but you don't see me out there telling those who do like it that they have don't know how to run a game. Hell I recommend stuff to folks that I don't like all the time.

Every week I have to listen to a guy complain that they're putting out a new Eberron book just because he doesn't like the setting. People complaining about having to go to 5.5 when they absolutely do not have to.

But damn if the internet didn't make it a thousand percent worse. Most folks I talk to who burn out on gaming it's because of something related to the infighting between folks over game style and what is right and what is wrong.
comment in response to post
Don't tell others that they know nothing about gaming simply because they do it differently than you. I'm so sick as fuck over this bullshit. I see it all the time, even at the shop I work at. I know this has always gone on and it probably will never end. I know that.

There are several different types of Vaesen and just one could be take more a session or two to deal with. That and not each type of Vaesen is the same, werewolves for instance. The person who ran the demo I played in said we solved it in a way no group before had before.

It's a great experience being in a theater alone. I've done it before. You fall into the movie so much easier that way and forget everything around you. Two thumbs up, highly recommended. If that makes us losers, so be it.

One of the healers in our party has had to do more healing on himself than anybody else. He seems to be an arrow magnet.
