"It might create mental associations where you hear water running and all of a sudden you need to run to the bathroom." Is this person a recent Fremen immigrant, because any because any Earthling knows that you don't need to pee in the shower for this to already be a thing.

I've heard elsewhere that the DC picture is about an hour before the schedule start time. For comparison, I drove through a town of 70k people about an hour before their protest was scheduled and there was a comparable amount of people.

Easy solution: Daylight SuperSavings Time. Set clocks ahead 1 hour every month from January through June, then reverse the process July-Dec.

I have another lined up for the next person.

It's called being autistic, and it's also called being "socially impaired" by people who you'd think would know better. pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC...

The thing to realize is that the energy in the gas HAD to come from the electricity being put in, likely with >10x overhead. Then the car will get 30% of that back.

That's a really old clip. They fairly quickly gathered enough data to pretty much rule out the possibility that Apophis hit earth in the next 100 years at least. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/99942_A...

People used to compare Musk to Tesla. If we go with that, I think we've reached the exclusively-having-conversations-with-pigeons stage.

Not what I was looking for, but close, and....interesting. I think I know someone who would appreciate these. amzn.to/43VPAZi

There's no Philosophy behind Musk's actions. There's only ketamine and "GIMME!"

Unfortunately, it's been co-opted by some folks for whom "the science" is "the science, as understood in the 60's, and filtered though a middle school curriculum, a basketball coach filling in as 'science' teacher, and my own short attention span, limited capacity to understand, and faulty memory"

I should add that he didn't even make real estate investments on purpose. He bought properties for businesses that all failed. There just happened to be a real estate boom while he was busy failing.

You can't Effect something without Affecting a change from nonexistence to existence. You can't Affect something without Effecting its new state. Basically the same word with quibbling differences.

That looks amazing. I'm curious if you have had any issues with over-curious seals. They loved "stress testing" the equipment when I was involved with Slocum gliders.

It definitely needs to change, but what's the alternative?

Head writer lives in NY. The MAGAs think that New Yorkers always disliked Trump because politics. He was a joke to them long before he said anything political. They disliked him because they KNEW him. He was always a fraudulent nepobaby who just happened to buy some real estate at a good time.

From what I've seen, most people can't tell and/or don't care. Usually both.

You say "every single post" but I've been in the book and indie book space since before gen-AI and not seen one. This statement is either hyperbole and/or a resulting from a filter bubble.

It was eventually Google image search to hunt down The Aquabats.

No offense, but I don't think you've "been there" with years-long work/autistic burnout and depression from an overbearing work environment, parenting, abusive therapists, and taking care of a sick parent. We don't always get to choose our challenges. Toxic positivity is a thing.

No big shocker, but eventually I just burned out, and I'm still recovering. Downside: PTSD and loss of a meaningful career. Upside: Actually getting to be a parent.

I'm really glad you managed that. I did my best, but some nights I was sleeping under my desk short naps to try to meet the job demands. If I was picking up Jr. from day care, I left the house at 3:30 am so I could get enough work done before I left.
