The reality is that computer is tracking wayyyy more data than people realize and sharing the heck out of it. You think the license agreements are brutal for a phone app. Check out Tesla's. And that includes cameras.

The next wave is boomer retirements that have been keeping the lights on for all these legacy ancient systems like COBOL.. Problem is it's not a fixed point in time but a slow burn since the needed expertise is disappearing over time.

Remember it well.. Was on a couple of projects to make sure systems would not fail.. Had been including the century in all of my bespoke projects since the mid eighties.. Was a Canadian that woke a lot of people up 😅..

I have had the Garmin Venu 3 for about a year.. Still love it.. I can't imagine not getting a minimum of 7 days and often 10 days charge.. Moved from a fitbit after Google bought them. Also not in the Apple ecosystem at all... Variety of exercise pretty well daily and sleep tracking..

I'll take you back.. In the days of floppy disks one of my business partners was helping a client on the phone install an update.. He said "ok now insert the disk into the drive.. Ok good.. Now close the door". There was a long pause and then we heard "no not the room door the disk door"..
