Charing Cross Road, pedestrianised today. Glorious. Because whenever you take cars away, cities get better.

I am terrible indexing my gears. Going on a very hilly ride tomorrow and couldn’t get the bottom three cogs of my cassette. Fixed that. Now I can’t get the top two. And I don’t want to make it worse. Going to be a grind.

Lots of cargo bikes in timeline today. Here was me in for a 9am meeting at aecom not Deloitte. They got me to bring it into the bike store. Difficult to get through doors. But good space- plenty of room.

I’m not paying £31 a month to watch live cycling. Really enjoyed it. Particularly track league. But that’s crazy. I don’t want to watch rugby.

Mars- Jupiter - Venus and Saturn all lined up tonight. Impossible for me to photo. But get outside and have a look.

This child’s jumper is terrifying. Both in message and execution. (Looking for nursery clothes)

Lots of rubbish drivers on commute. One incident; two cars nosed into cycle lane - blocking half of it. Both chatting. One looking at the other whilst is car creeps forward further into bike lane. I shout 😮. He starts yelling he’s ok as he’s not parked in the pavement and tells me to F off.

Canal towpaths aren’t cycle infrastructure. Change my mind. Used it with the cargo bike to get to velodrome for jumble sale. So much inaccessible. And at least one turn back on way into town. I would use the Highway segregated cycle track but there’s a big gap on a dodgy bit of dual carriageway.

Sometimes a bit of escape. Human Traffic. BBC iPlayer. I’d watched it so many times ive not watched it in 20 years. Watched it again. I’d recommend it. It includes the best song about Belfast m.youtube.com/watch?v=RmRc...

Incredible

Get your good selves to Swinton tomorrow. This looks amazing. It’s called Swinton ark and was organised by a colleague. Brilliant. Picture stolen from Derek Antrobus.

On the way home a bird of prey took off from a verge holding a rat in front of me. It dropped it onto the windscreen of an oncoming taxi. Thud. I didn’t see the outcome as I was a little bit horrified so carried on cycling. You don’t see that from a car. In a city. Taxi did. But you know.

Justin Timberlake, welcome to the war on cars!

I am reminded of that time in 2004 when we protested Le Pen in Altrincham. Seems a long time ago.

Here is a picture of the Social and Environmental Justice that can be achieved by ripping out LTNs! (Valley Rd is one of the roads that was previously filtered in the abandoned Streatham Wells LTN)

So cold this morning I had to pour boiling water on my D lock.

Running down the street in cycling bibs - slippers- and a cable knit with the brown bin - full of cans. After the bin wagon. Made it. 😎 doesn’t matter how you do Christmas bin day as long as it gets done.

I watched gavin and Stacey. There has to be an academic paper somewhere linking the enshitification of the UK with this show. My only query is if it was cause or symptom. Is it just a record - or did it somehow act as catalyst.

Yep, this looks like a devolution masterclass. Pushing what is likely to be very unpopular decisions downwards- approaches Inconsistent across country. CAZ mkii. hope it’s not but seems a strange place to put it otherwise. A lot of people have annexed public space for their cars and see it as earnt
