That was also my thought.

Yeah, I have half a dozen characters memorised that aren't on my keyboard, and the em dash is one.

I know that Disney settled with at least one of the authors they tried to screw over in this context (Alan Dean Foster). Amount undisclosed.

I look forward to reading that sentence. As soon as possible, please.

"Slattenlangpat" (lit. saggy-long-teat), a fae critter from Danish folklore. Described as having breasts that sag all the way to the knees, which she would sling over her shoulders to run, when fleeing from King Volmer's Hunt (the Danish equiv. of the Wild Hunt). Possibly once a pagan water deity.

I want to find the guy that clocked him, and thank him for his service.

A note to anyone who wants to learn Japanese and actually enjoy most of the process - tadoku.org has a *huge* library of free books organized by difficulty that provide an amazingly smooth on-ramp to easier native content. Pair this with some flash cards and you're golden. tadoku.org/japanese/en/...

I was on a bus, and a lady in front of me was struggling with a wasp. I fully expected to get stung (Murphy's Law), but she batted it away and nothing happened. Getting off the bus, I walked upstairs to my apartment, and felt the sudden burn of a sting on my thigh. It had crawled up my pants leg. 😑

It also features heavily in the American conservative "prepper" mindset, which leans on the idea of being so well-armed that you can just loot whatever you need, in the post-apocalyptic times (and on the presumption that everyone else is thinking this way, so you'd better ensure you have more guns).

Bonus points if you were asleep while streaming.

I'm sorry, I couldn't make it out — it was overshadowed by my own profanities.

If the "pants on fire" expression had any truth to it, he would have self-immolated decades ago. The man is incapable of speaking the truth.

I seldom have more than four or five tabs open. I don't use tabs as a "desk space". Instead, I have a folder in my bookmarks bar called "Shelf". When I have a tab that I want to keep for reference, the way some people would keep the tab open, I just drag it to "Shelf", and it will keep for later.

Just you wait, there's more timey-wimey stuff to come in later seasons.

Maybe also Elvis Costello's "Tramp the Dirt Down" (yes, I know that was Thatcher, but the sentiment is the same).

it may help to know the thing that made Karl Marx's name was explaining exactly how this happened the first time stop me if you've heard this one before: there's an idiot outsider with name recognition promising to make the country great again, and he's got the rich, religious, and rural behind him

It's a lovely picture, maybe that was reason enough? I've been to Verona, but I didn't visit the Castelvecchio while there — yet I might have bought such a picture myself.
comment in response to post
Yeah, that's absolutely the entrance to Castelvecchio. I looked for photos that matched the approximate angle and showed the same features, and found these:

I have no idea what the point is, but if you search "half gloves", you will find that those are a Thing You Can Buy. Maybe to cosplay anime characters?

Might want to give a thought to the likelihood of hyperinflation. If you do withdraw money to "stuff in your mattress", make it in a more solid currency than the US dollar, or in some kind of valuable items. Gold, jewelry, etc.

You can always tell when somebody in this administration has some ethics: They resign.
