Fifth show of the year: The Innocence Mission at Ardmore Music Hall on 5/23! So amazing to hear them live for the first time after being a fan for almost 30 years.

I’ve done this route on a Brompton folding bike that has 16” wheels. It wasn’t as fun as riding on my gravel bike with 700x43 tires but still doable! Don’t let the lack of a gravel bike stop you from joining!

Next week's ride is gonna be beautiful

For the second year in a row, Chicago's population is on the rise. It's no surprise that the best big city in the nation is recovering from the past. All part of making Illinois the premier destination to live, work, raise a family, and do business.

My 12yo has been watching Fresh off the Boat and we just watched an episode about chicken pox. My son asked me what chicken pox was. It's easy to forget this was something almost every kid of my generation got but kids today don't get it anymore thanks to vaccines! www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPCs...

It’s so weird how some people feel aggrieved by not being able to comment on other people’s videos. I disabled comments on all my YouTube videos, not just this one. The commentary on why I don’t have comments is exactly why I disabled commenting. 😂

At my son's concert last night, I realized it was the 8th concert I've been to at Girard Academic Music Program (GAMP), a music-focused public middle school in South Philly. It still amazes me to see these kids perform, many of whom only started playing a couple years ago. youtu.be/mjvpcsbpd2Y?...

Happy primary Election Day in Philadelphia. Here’s my election guide for today.

“It's not my duty as Mayor to make sure you have a parking spot. For me it's the same as if you bought a cow, or a refrigerator, and then asked me where you're going to put them.” — Mayor of Pontevedra, Spain (re-elected 6 times)

I’m sadly not doing the Petite Aventure this year with my family, but if you don’t have summer family vacation plans yet and love the idea of a fully supported family-friendly bike camping trip, consider the Petite Aventure, June 28-30. www.veloquebecvoyages.com/en/destinati...

Made a note on my phone for who to vote for tomorrow. Feel free to save photo to your phone.

These two blocks, the 1600 blocks of S Juniper and S Clarion are just one block apart, but there’s such a stark difference. You can blame the street width, but Clarion can support street trees if you prohibit parking.

The new Schuylkill River Trail extension is incredible. So many people already using the new part of the trail on opening weekend! @eastcoastgreenway.bsky.social youtu.be/63EnzzRVIJY?...

I don’t own a car but when I rent one on the weekends to run errands, it’s still useful to combine it with a bike to give me more flexibility in where to park the car.

East-facing walk signal at NW corner of Broad and Ellsworth has been out for a few weeks. I was hoping it’d magically get fixed but it didn’t so I filed a 311 request. If you see something broken, please report it! Here’s the website but there’s also an app! www.phila.gov/departments/...

I’m trying to average at least one concert per month. The Innocence Mission show at the end of the month will put me on track. So far this year: 2/1-Grace Gardner 2/13-Hannah Cole 4/19-Bright Eyes 5/9-Sophie Coran Go see live music!

I always use the REI anniversary sales to accumulate gear I want for a future bike/camping adventure. I got a great deal on a 2 person tent a couple of years before I went on my actual trip. :) All their REI-branded backpacking tents are currently on sale. www.rei.com/b/rei-co-op/...

This is a great Modern Love podcast about male identity, toxic masculinity, healthy marriage, creating a legacy for your descendants, generational sin, relational joy, and so much more. So many deep important topics in one episode. Gift article link: www.nytimes.com/2025/05/14/p...

Ever wish you could have people to bike commute to work with? Check out Philly Bike Train! phillybiketrain.org This was from yesterday's Bike to Work Day ride: youtu.be/BbpkpDemSvU?...

Loved last night's @wednightrides.org across the Ben Franklin Bridge! youtu.be/WQX2mEP4jc0?...

Great positive story about a Philly public high school not named Masterman or Central. Congrats to Academy at Palumbo and all the graduating seniors! apple.news/AFIxfGOmOQ-G...

If you're planning to #BikeToWork tomorrow and need a mid-pedal or post-pedal pick-up—bikes are always welcome onboard the B and M and on the bike racks located on the front of all #SEPTA buses and trackless trolleys. #ISEPTAPHILLY #HowWeRoll

It was a bit dreary but that didn't stop about 70 of us from riding to NJ and back! Thanks Alec B for a rad route & ride. It's hard to photograph this many riders tho, I think we need a drone

Ray, a long-time organizer of the Ride of Silence in Philly, was at the @wednightrides.org last night handing out flyers for next week's ride. Please attend! If you're not in Philly, there are hundreds of rides across the US and world @5thsq.org @bcgp.bsky.social

90% of my classmates wanted to stay in Philly, but couldn't find a job within city limits or didn't require a car for a suburban office park. Not great!

If you're looking for an interesting Phillies hat, New Era is having an extra 30% off discount on sale items. www.neweracap.com/collections/...

It’d be kinda cool to buy a building like this to rent out the lower space to a restaurant and live above it. Just by being a property owner, I’d have some influence over what kind of restaurant to add to the neighborhood. And I wouldn’t mind charging under-market rate to get a place I really want.

Is it really worth being in line all day just to get a membership to a private social club? 😒

Cars don’t just ruin bike racks, they ruin cities!

I'm sad Andor is over. But I hope this gets people to watch Rogue One again and appreciate it as the best Star Wars movie. I also hope they flesh out more of the Andor/Rogue One timeline with other characters.

Almost exactly 4 years ago, I suggested my son buy one share of stock as a way to learn about how stocks work. He chose Roblox (RBLX) and bought one share for $71. It hit a high of $134 a few months later but then dropped and languished under $50 until just recently. It's back up to $78 today.

This is my dream—to cap the natural gas line to my house. I replaced the stove with induction and water heater with heat pump. Only remaining item in my house that requires gas is the heat!

Just discovered this channel. So many hits from the 90s and 2000s performed recently by the original band. Still sound so good! www.youtube.com/@THESONGTV

I didn't realize the original lead singer of The Fray left. I always liked their songs but was not really a fan of the vocals. One of their existing band members stepped up to be the new lead and I actually like him so much better! www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBE0...

Another month, another under-resourced church being designated historic against their will! This model cannot continue--the Historical Commission must adopt lower-tier standards of historic alteration and offer more financial incentives for local historic properties

On Saturday, I took Regional Rail from Jefferson to Holmesburg Junction which is a Zone 2 station. I was expecting to pay $5 one way which is supposed to be the weekend fare. But I logged into my Septa Key account and saw it was free!

A million people ride SEPTA every day! It doesn’t matter if you’re a commuter, a tourist, or one of the over 300,000 employees in Center City that depend on public transportation, I’m working to make sure the ride you count on is there when you need it. youtu.be/175eV9NcfGc

The Apple HomePod is highly underrated as a "soundbar". My soundbar died a few months ago and since I watch everything through my Apple TV, I got a HomePod. I just learned you can route any audio going through your TV to the Apple TV and HomePod. support.apple.com/en-us/102290
