Doing a little publicity for 1 of the 4 scrapers I’ve built in the course of the @lostma.bsky.social project’s data collection. If you study pre-modern French lit. and want to get a bunch of information out of Jonas at once, consider trying out this open-source tool. github.com/LostMa-ERC/J...

I looked again at the PoeTree project after having heard of it at @comphumresearch.bsky.social, it's just amazing! Great job @artjomshl.bsky.social versologie.cz/poetree/index #DigitalHumanities #NLProc #ComputationalHumanities

Very promising early release of cultural heritage corpus for AI training with a detailed pipeline and data report. I’m happy to see that Pleias tooling contributed to it (for OCR detection).

Today we released Institutional Books 1.0, a 242B token dataset from Harvard Library's collections, refined for accuracy and usability. 🧵

In the ever-evolving field of Digital Humanities, knowing where to find information, experts, and tools can be a recurring challenge for researchers. Expert pools and resource directories can therefore be very helpful for a variety of reasons. (1/3) #dh #DigitalHumanities #DHPools #DHCenter

Remember this next time you order pizza 🍕

We are proud to have @miguelev.bsky.social (@cssh-nus.bsky.social, National University of Singapore) and Els Lefever (LT3 Language and Translation Technology, Ghent University) as keynote speakers at our CHR2025 conference in December. With NSF cuts, my guess is that the best possible scenario right now is that AI/ML PhD graduates drop by only 50% in the next 3-4 years. I don't understand how tech and related companies are not freaking out about this.

#RC21 is one of several exciting projects at @dhssfau.bsky.social. Our tools can show how 19th century English novels talk about education on clic-fiction.com. To learn more, sign up for our MA programme in Digital Humanities - applications are open until July 15! go.fau.de/1bige

Don‘t hesitate to get in touch if you have questions about the MA

What is not mentioned in the invitation - the conference language is English, so international guests are also welcome :-) I will also be happy to share the link to the livestream on 11 June if there are any other interested people in the world (we already have 40 participants at the moment 🥳)

New NEH-supported tutorial on running LLMs locally with ollama! Your laptop is more powerful than you think. Save money, privacy, and energy. aiforhumanists.com/tutorials/

@chnunn.bsky.social has put together an excellent symposium looking at how #DigitalHumanities are being reshaped. The event is also being live-streamed! More details in his post below.

Whelp, June 10th fast approaches—when the majority of NEH staff will officially be let go, following our time on admin leave. If you see an NEH staffer wandering around in a daze, hire them immediately. You won't regret it. They were the best, most committed, sharpest bunch I've ever worked with.
