I think “couldn’t let players have beards until 2025” is still perfectly acceptable trash talk, personally.

This is the exact image that came to mind regarding Pete Alonso's reaction to the bread btw

The White Sox do not deserve White Sox fans.

I'm not super competitive about things like this (I want everyone to succeed!) but I do think having a group of accountability buddies in the Discord would be really nice!

Thank you! I was honestly shocked at how fast my cholesterol improved. Really cutting down my red meat consumption to almost zero was probably the biggest change I made.

Oooof awful luck. I've run the Cherry Blossom a lot of times. It was an annual tradition for me up until COVID and then my subsequent injury. It's really a fantastic race and I hope you get to run it someday.

Good to know, thank you! Can you track macros on there? That used to be a feature of My Fitness Pal, but now of course it's a premium feature you have to pay for. 🙄

It really is helping. I'm like "welp I'm gonna feel awful mentally for the foreseeable future and there's not much I can do about that so might as well feel good physically." If El*n is gonna try to ruin my life I'm going to do whatever I can to make it difficult for him by becoming ITBSOML.

Thank you! Best of luck on your journey also!

But completing the Cherry Blossom would be huge for me because it would be my first race since I tore my ACL in 2022. I know I am much slower now than I was before the injury, but given how long and arduous that rehab was, just completing the race would be a huge W.

...but then I immediately deleted it again because the reality of trying to lose weight as a 4'11" woman is that you are permitted approximately one lettuce leaf per day if you want to actually do a deficit. So I'll just stick to trusting my intuition and sticking with the dietary changes.

I'm pleased that my efforts to change my diet so far have paid off. The next step ideally would be to lose some weight so I re-downloaded My Fitness Pal for the first time in like a decade...

In the past, I always took the attitude that I worked out so much that I didn't really have to care much about what I ate as long as I was getting enough protein and wasn't eating junk. Given how high my cholesterol was in October, clearly I needed a wakeup call.

Right now I'm training for the Cherry Blossom 10 Miler in April, so the exercise portion was already there; I've never had much of a problem with exercise because I enjoy being active and can usually stay consistent once I start a workout plan. Diet and food has always been my struggle.

Anyway, I wrote about all this last week, there's nothing much new to say about it I guess. I also believe that people who want more from this country and care more for each other outnumber the people trying to make all that impossible, and that we'll outlive them. defector.com/billionaire-...

Yeah I'm afraid this will hit a little too hard similar to how reading Station Eleven during COVID felt. But I'm still excited to read it anyway.

I spent a large portion of Super Bowl Sunday reading (lol what a nerd), so we are on to book number 4 of 2025. This one is long overdue and feels as relevant as ever right now.

Book 3 of 2025: My book club’s book for February. Also my first Kindle book for this year because the wait for this at the library was bananas.
