Sounds about right for a police force in eastern WA, especially one that has to deal with blue areas in the city. They’re always big fish in little ponds, itching to use their military grade weapons and equipment on somebody

Some of the people at the capitol insurrection were cops. Some of them from Seattle sued to keep their identities from being released and just lost at the Supreme Court. Police unions protect these bad actors every day. Their culture perpetuates the illegal behavior. Get fired, get rehired.

I think a lot more South Koreans remember first hand, or from their immediate family, what it’s like living in an undemocratic country. Americans don’t pay attention to history now, and suffer from a major failure of imagination.

Roughly half of Americans are of below average intelligence, and I’m not convinced the average is very high.

You should see what their draft work horses look like by the time they dump them at slaughter auctions. Some of them can barely walk, have horrendous eye infections, all sorts of horrors. Treat them like trash to use up and get a few more bucks at the end instead of at least humanely euthanizing.

The stays quo has worked for them, and in turn they can most influence whether things change or stay the same. Since the beginning of time.

It’s the only one of that trilogy worth watching. The emotional descent of Vader is done pretty well.

Someone needs to ask Nutlick if this is so great, why didn’t he pursue this American dream? We do have manufacturing plants. Why isn’t he working at one? Why aren’t his kids?

I’m not exactly sure what percentage of sanctimonious content I can tolerate, but David Brooks manages still to exceed it 100% of the time.

Yeah, no shit, why do you think Elon just turned Twitter into a payment system, too. Big, big money from pennies on billions of transactions with almost no cost

I’m not dressing it up. living at poverty level, sleeping in bunk beds, and eating wonderbread cheese sandwiches is not really an “I get a paycheck” like a normal job situation. It was a living expenses stipend. No one was saving anything unless their parents were rich or something. FFS

Yes, it 100% helps the kids as much or more than the projects. I’m so old, we were hoping Bob Dole wouldn’t win and shut us down mid way.

Do you have anything good to say about the program, or are you just here to be a troll about it? When I served we were mostly in military base housing that was already empty. Including WWII era barracks. And it’s not like eating fried food at the mess hall and PB&J sandwiches on site is living large
