Added a new QoL feature to Failed Falling, my reverse Getting Over It. While standing still, you can now look down or up to see what's coming and better plan your next moves! Wishlists help a lot!🫠 store.steampowered.com/app/3621600/... #ScreenshotSaturday #SoloDev #GameDev #IndieGame #GodotEngine

Failed Falling is a reverse foddian platformer where falling isn't a threat, but the goal! Inspired by Getting Over It and Jump King, it's a completely #SoloDev project developed with #GodotEngine. 🪂Wishlists on Steam!🪂 store.steampowered.com/app/3621600/... #WishlistWednesday #GameDev #IndieGame

Made a gameplay trailer for Failed Falling, my reverse Getting Over It. I'm surprised how quickly I was able to make it! Now the Steam page is complete! Hopefully it's good enough to get wishlists! store.steampowered.com/app/3621600/... #ScreenshotSaturday #SoloDev #GameDev #IndieGame #GodotEngine

Finally, the Steam page for Failed Falling, my reverse Getting Over It, is up! store.steampowered.com/app/3621600/... Now that the page is running to gather wishlists, I will next work on the trailer and the demo with a dedicated page. #ScreenshotSaturday #SoloDev #GameDev #IndieGame #GodotEngine

After anguishing about the capsule art of Failed Falling, my reverse Getting Over It, I finally came up with a decent idea. It's not original or beautiful, but at least I'm content with it. Hopefully the rest of the Steam page won't take as long... #ScreenshotSaturday #SoloDev #GameDev #IndieGame

Took way too long, but I finished working on a new title art for Failed Falling, my reverse Getting Over It. I'm not completely happy with it, but I have to stop wasting so much time on it and, if I want, I can still easily change the color in the future. #SoloDev #GameDev #IndieGame #GodotEngine

What a Nintendo Direct... The console itself looks very good. Mario Kart World is what I wanted for a long time. Sakurai got his long deserved vacation. From Software made the "sequel" of Sony's exclusive a Nintendo exclusive. Silksong got 5 seconds of old gameplay, very funny 🫠... June 5th!?!

Finished working on the assets for the 3rd area of Failed Falling, my reverse Getting Over It. It took me three months, but now I can finally work on updating its demo to add a sneak peek of the third area. Here's a video of some of it! #ScreenshotSaturday #SoloDev #GameDev #IndieGame #GodotEngine

Improved some of the assets of Failed Falling. For the 3rd area of the game, I improved the tilemap, especially for the red buildings, and the music with a different mix. Game wide, I improved the updrafts' accessibility boundaries: they are animated now! #SoloDev #GameDev #IndieGame #GodotEngine

In Failed Falling, there are some intended skips for speedrunners, but a few were more accidental: in fact, I just discovered that my favorite one has a second part that makes it even better! I won't spoil it, but I can show another skip: can you spot it? #SoloDev #GameDev #IndieGame #GodotEngine

The #SteamSpringSale is almost over, but my sliding puzzles game Minimal Slide is still 30% off! Even just a wishlist is enough: just seeing some numbers change would be nice! You can get it here: store.steampowered.com/app/3163570/... #WishlistWednesday #SoloDev #GameDev #IndieGame #GodotEngine

After feeling that the last addition wasn't enough, I've decided to add updrafts with variable strengths to Failed Falling. While it might've been obvious to add them, I was afraid they would be too confusing, but I think I've managed to make them less so. #SoloDev #GameDev #IndieGame #GodotEngine

Added a new updraft modifier in Failed Falling, my reverse Getting Over It. They are a further evolution of timed updrafts where the air stream changes in width periodically. Not sure how much new obstacles I can make from them, though. #ScreenshotSaturday #SoloDev #GameDev #IndieGame #GodotEngine

Minimal Slide, my #solodev sliding puzzles game, is part of the #SteamSpringSale! Link: store.steampowered.com/app/3163570/... I still have to earn enough to get paid by Steam for the first time; maybe this sale is when it will happen? Unlikely, but one can hope! #GameDev #IndieGame #GodotEngine

Godot 4.4 is out and I've easily updated my current project, Failed Falling, to it. It might not have new shiny features useful for my game, but the new embedded game window let's me show better things like the third area's background! #ScreenshotSaturday #SoloDev #GameDev #IndieGame #GodotEngine

This account is now one year old! Was hoping to reach 100 followers before then, but it's difficult without being in starterpacks and at least I'm close! Don't know what my future as an #indiegamedev will bring, if anything at all, but being on Bluesky (and Mastodon) was at least one right decision!

Finally, after weeks of work, the background for the 3rd area of Failed Falling, my reverse Getting Over It, is finished! It features an heavy fog that moves over the landscape and animated chimneys using particles. Pretty happy with it! #ScreenshotSunday #SoloDev #GameDev #IndieGame #GodotEngine

I'm almost done with making the background for the third area of Failed Falling, my "reverse" Getting Over It. It's only missing a few details and then I'll make the clouds/fog textures that will move over it. Should finish it tomorrow! #ScreenshotSaturday #SoloDev #GameDev #IndieGame #GodotEngine

When I wrote my post about A Space for the Unbound 11 days ago, it was just after finishing it. I haven't stopped thinking about it since, so I've spent the entire day writing about it and then leaving a review for it on Steam. I haven't wrote this much for a while, but it deserved it. #IndieGame

Continued working on the background for the third area of Failed Falling, my reverse Getting Over It. Made some quick progress, for once, on the lower half and also improved the middle. Still one entire layer to go, but I'm getting close! #ScreenshotSunday #SoloDev #GameDev #IndieGame #GodotEngine

Been working on the background for the third area of Failed Falling, my reverse Getting Over It. Making big pixel arts is time consuming at my skill level. This is only half of what the full piece needs to be, but I should finish soon! #ScreenshotSaturday #SoloDev #GameDev #IndieGame #GodotEngine

Just finished playing A Space for the Unbound. I was a bit worried about where the story and its character were going towards, but my worries were wrong: it was almost perfect and I got emotional at the end. Even the gameplay, which started feeling stale, got better. It was fantastic! #IndieGame

Finished improving the old songs of Failed Falling, my reverse foddian platformer. This was the track that needed improvements the less, but it was worth it revisiting it. I'm now done with music for a while, back to the pixel art mines! #ScreenshotSunday #SoloDev #GameDev #IndieGame #GodotEngine

Improved the song from the first area of Failed Falling, my "reverse" Getting Over It. Despite being the oldest track I've made for the game, I'm a bit surprised how much I still like it! Really happy with my progress in music making! #ScreenshotSaturday #SoloDev #GameDev #IndieGame #GodotEngine

After finishing the song for the third area, I decided to go back to the other songs I've made so far to improve them with what I learned over time. The menus' music, despite being the shortest, gave me the most trouble, but, for now, I'm happy with it! #SoloDev #GameDev #IndieGame #GodotEngine

Fun fact🧵: while I might have put Minimal Slide, my first game, on Steam only a few months ago, it was first released almost two years ago. Being a puzzle game, I decided to release it both for Pc on Itch and for Android on Google Play. It was one of the worst #gamedev decision I've ever made...

Added the ambience to the third area of Failed Falling, my reverse Getting Over It. Instead of editing an existing recording, this one is made from scratch: it was tricky making sure it could be faintly heard with the music on, but I did! #ScreenshotSunday #SoloDev #GameDev #IndieGame #GodotEngine

Spent the last two weeks creating the song for the third area of Failed Falling, my reverse foddian platformer. I'm still learning music making, but I'm very happy with this song! Now the area only needs the ambience and the background! #ScreenshotSaturday #SoloDev #GameDev #IndieGame #GodotEngine

It took me a while, but I've now finished the tilemap for the third area of Failed Falling, my reverse Getting Over It. It's only 25% of all I need to do beside its level design, but it's progress! Demo pmkexpert.itch.io/failed-falling #ScreenshotSaturday #SoloDev #GameDev #IndieGame #GodotEngine

There's this game called Unbox: Newbie's Adventure that I replay every winter holiday. It isn't particularly good, but despite that, it has some cool levels to explore and one of them is these wintery mountains, full of details and beautiful vistas. How many unassuming indies hide gems like this?

First post of the year :) New year #gamedev resolutions: - Play more games - Play more demos - Write more reviews Doing so might not directly help with developing my own games, but it will make me understand better what I want to create with them... and maybe also help fellow gamedevs. Happy 2025!

Last post of the year :( It's been a while since I posted anything new about my main project Failed Falling, so here's my progress on the tilemap for the third area of the game. 2024 was disappointing, but I will finish the game in 2025: I still have hope! #SoloDev #GameDev #IndieGame #GodotEngine

It's the last few days of the #SteamWinterSale and my puzzle game is still part of it! Minimal Slide features 100+ handcrafted sliding puzzles with unlockable customization options. It's 25% off! store.steampowered.com/app/3163570/... #ScreenshotSaturday #SoloDev #GameDev #IndieGame #GodotEngine

I like to write and I like games, so I've married the two by writing a few Steam reviews over the years, but, by seriously starting #gamedev, I haven't found the time to do it as much. I finally decided to change that today! People, write reviews for indies: they help so much, even just for morale!

Minimal Slide is part of the #SteamWinterSale! store.steampowered.com/app/3163570/... It's my first time participating in one of the big two Steam sales and it is pretty exciting! Even if I don't expect much actual sales, it's a magical time of the year. #SoloDev #GameDev #IndieGame #GodotEngine

It took way too much time, but now I can actually put on hold my side project S-Omnia. I wasn't happy with the footsteps sound: it took me a week to create something better, but at least now I'm done! pmkexpert.itch.io/s-omnia #ScreenshotSaturday #Pixelart #SoloDev #GameDev #IndieGame #GodotEngine

#TheGameAwards were really good this year! Cool new announcements, at least some self awareness for the dire state of the industry and developers actually speaking their hearts out, instead of just shallow words. Sure, a Balatro win would have been great, but Astrobot was the second best choice!

It's the 9th of December, which means it's time for my yearly replay of VA-11 Hall-A! It's been a tradition of mine since 5 years ago, when I played it for the first in December: I didn't know the game's story actually plays during that month, day by day from the 9th to the last day of the year...

I lied and I'm doing a couple more things for S-Omnia, before putting it on hold. One of these is the title art and, well, I'm surprised how much I like it! I also spent way too much time improving the Itch page's background: it can be zoomed out! pmkexpert.itch.io/s-omnia #IndieGameDev #Pixelart
