Shocking footage from the White House. Zelensky was right to cut short and go home. Not sure who this is meant to impress at this point, except Putin.

I loved David Lynch, he had a powerful creative light and even though his stories were disturbing, his visual aesthetic and sound design resonated strongly with me. And he was funny! I was v happy to visit his favourite LA diner, and I also learned transcendental meditation on his recommendation. 🫡

I fear there is deep truth here.

Happy new year. Not to be flippant about the fact that 2024 was a horrific shitshow for a lot of humanity, but in my small corner it was a bit of a rough one, so I’m hoping 2025 is less shite for everyone. Following a set of disappointments I’m determined to get more music into the world in 2025. 🍀

Hey, remember to clean and demagnetize your cassette deck heads tonight. You don't want everyone to be disappointed by the poor state of your tape deck transport on Christmas morning!

Generative AI is theft. And this tech needs to be curbed now. The UK government has proposed a change to the copyright law which would benefit AI companies, meaning AI companies would be able to train on British copyrighted work without a licence. www.gov.uk/government/c...

I swear Google still doesn't get my accent. Me: "Hey Google, play 6 Music." Google: "Okay, here's some sex music from Spotify". 😑

Child Poverty % (children living in households below the minimum wage) Denmark 2.4% Finland 3.2% Norway 3.6% Sweden 3.6% The UK 32.1% All four of those countries have child benefits, paid by taxing the rich, that make it almost impossible for a child to be in poverty.

Needed to get off at Ashford International after a night out and walked through the Eurostar ghost station to the weird car park. Love this kind of stuff. . #ghoststation #rain #storm #carpark #kent #ashford #eurostar

I knew cassettes are super popular with young people in Japan rn but as someone who has released on cassette it’s heartwarming to see this trend also happening closer to home www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

The recording of my hour-long live performance for the first Folkestone Techno Social event is now on Mixcloud — for connoisseurs of cavernous #dystopian #electro #techno. Big thanks to PSQ for the opportunity. Photo by legend Toby Cotton. www.mixcloud.com/folkestonete... #electronicmusic

They don't want you to live, they want you to work and then they want you to die. Every day they drill this message into you and bleat on about their profits. Every day you need to reject it.

Feeling this

Starting the fortieth Starter Pack with all the bands, orchestras, independent labels, and musicians I can find on Blue Sky! Please have a look, follow some or all of them, and share this pack here and in other places! This is a work in progress and will be updated! go.bsky.app/NoVxwJq

My 9 year old wanted to know the difference between agony and irony and now I want Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder to do another duet to explain it

Thanks everyone for the follows and apologies for the delay in following back — pls bear with me! And if we’re not yet acquainted may I introduce myself as an electronic musician/producer working with cavernous corroded synths and big murky drum beats, e.g. pgwarren-cis.bandcamp.com/album/how-we...

I've put a starter pack together go.bsky.app/7uzhdbx

A rap battle is two men writing poems about each other

Had a quirky dream where I was showing an interested Paul McCartney a modular synth and then mentioned I make music and would be available to play synths for him, and he turned to me and quite flatly said, in his trademark voice, “I do that myself Pete,” — and that was the end of my dream, basically

If you’re not familiar with this Vangelis inspired charity comp and you’re a synth-head I highly recommend it — it’s full of great tracks. So many people have approached me about my contribution Los Angeles. Don’t miss it.

I know multiple people in their early ‘50s who are burning out — and I feel like no one is acknowledging this unseen professional and societal crisis of the current world: when you’ve been working flat-out for decades the tank is just empty — and retirement seems like a distant, unattainable fantasy

Hey all. Excited to be performing a live selection of my dystopian synth monsters at the inaugural Folkestone Techno Social on Friday 15 November at Folklore on The Old High Street. 8-11:30. I’m on 9-ish, sandwiched between ace DJ sets from PSQ. Cosy venue, should be a good’un, be nice to see you.

Loved the bleak beauty of Deal Pier on a dark chilly autumn afternoon, exactly the kind of thing that feeds my music

Re: UK budget. If the government raise the financial burden on *anyone* below the level of multimillionaire then they deserve to be bundled into a rocket and fired at the sun. Tax the rich. Tax the corporations. Grrr.

It's easy to feel jaded with 1.8 million new songs uploaded every month. Through peers, radio, podcasts, print, blogs, and targeted algorithms I listen to a tiny portion of releases in my ballpark. Out of that very little lands. But then you hear a track that changes you. Yes, it's still important.

The coconut marketing association are doing a great job it seems in convincing manufacturers that the public really really want to wipe their buttholes with coconut oil and that no other oils from nuts, fruits or vegetables are desirable nor suitable for buttwipes

Just caught this house spider in a cassette box (my patented method of capture) — not very big but a fine specimen nonetheless. But I am noticing the house spiders getting bigger and bolder as we get into September in the UK — Autumn seems to awaken them. This post is sponsored by TDK (not really).

I am user #271,871 which coincidentally is the number of times I adjusted the snare on my latest track

Ruin a Beatles song: Helter Skeletor

As it’s #BandcampFriday pls check out Ghost Station — my 2013 debut #electronicmusic LP that had great reviews and #BBC6Music plays “The synths are charged, loose with the scorching smell of burning electricity and the dirt of the ages” – A Closer Listen pgwarren.bandcamp.com/album/ghost-station

Just been made aware that this is headed for BBC Radio 4 on 14th Sept, 8pm. Essential listening ⚡ Thanks to @situcker.bsky.social for letting me know 🙏 www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m...

This afternoon’s involuntary earworm: Today by Talk Talk — 42 years after release this album still haunts me, I can’t seem to shake it off! Amazingly atmospheric and evocative synth pop with lush eighties production from Colin Thurston youtu.be/TNm4lM-FBHE?...
