Given how similar the 2's are. I'm assuming it's some ordinary pixel upscaling algorithm. If it was AI/neural network based i'd expect them to turn out more differently

Awesome ✨ The thing to know is that there is absolutely no 3D involved. Its all 2D sprites, not scaled by distance. Rotating around a point in the centre. The base Island is also just a rotating image, truncated along the Y axis at all times.

It's a menu system app thingie that you can use as a companion with a Mario maker super world i've kinda been working on for a while. Might extend it at some point so that anyone can add their levels (Sorry for the edit, was beeing unclear)
