Well that’s what it’s like being chronically ill with ME. It’s like being unwell with an acute illness, but it’s not temporary, it’s every day. In my case, it’s been every day since 2014, over 10yrs of feeling acutely unwell, every day. And that’s just one part of what ME is. 3/3

It’s like, you know when you’re unwell with an acute illness like a bad cold or flu, you have a fever and you feel so dreadful that you call in sick to work, you’re unable to do your usual daily tasks/activities, you’re weak, exhausted, achy, listless, hot/cold, clammy, etc. 2/3

I like knowing that improvement, or even recovery, can be possible. But I think it’s hugely irresponsible, and arrogant, for anyone to suggest they have the answer, that because they improved, others can too, because there’s just no way they can possibly know that.

I would never suggest, that because I improved, you can too. While not just arrogant, it strikes me as unbelievably irresponsible, to instil false hope in people whose circumstances, healthcare, medical history, comorbidities, finances and support system I know nothing about. 2/2

Damn, missing word.
*I think ‘this’ is pretty obvious…

Why? She said absolutely nothing controversial. She just spoke with kindness. The American population who she was speaking of deserve to know that they aren’t forgotten and that they do matter.

It takes time to gather evidence.

…they’ll send me my renewal form in May. This means I have five months to mentally, emotionally and physically prepare myself for the renewal process. It’s already so much more civilised than the DWP method of a surprise renewal pack on the doormat with no warning. 2/2

They also have branches in Birmingham, Leeds and Leicester, which I don’t imagine are any more humane for the cats. They need to be closed down, and the owners should never be allowed to own or work with cats ever again. 3/3

This Reddit post has a video of the cat room at the Kitty Cafe in Nottingham. When not ‘on display’, the cats are locked in separate tiny cupboards. They can’t exercise, they can’t stretch, they can’t play, they can’t interact with each other. 2/3

I failed in my task and the course leader blamed me for her dropping out and not the bully, and he never treated me the same after that. This is why for many girls/women, there's simply no point in speaking out, and in many cases, it just makes things worse. 5/5

...about him, that I was likely going to be his next target, I guess because I was quiet/ naturally reserved. His target in the year below me dropped out because of him; the course leader actually asked me to persuade her to stay, that I survived the bullying and she could too. 4/5

...him and making me feel as though I was simply being too sensitive (a common accusation for the not-yet-diagnosed autistic girl/woman). His bullying was completely accepted, condoned even. He built up such a pattern of behaviour that girls in the years above me warned me... 3/5

...each year group and made their lives miserable, and my complaints were completely dismissed, by the course leader and the other lecturers who knew. One of the female lecturers offered to mediate a conversation between me and the bully, which ended up with her defending... 2/5
