Difficult to juggle that many balls. I think what surprised me, though, was the lack of big names on the bench. You would have flown down and back, so why not stick Salah etc on the bench? That could have changed the result.

It’s the regular heavy defeats that worry me the most. As you allude to, the struggling to stay up isn’t surprising given our budget. However, the semi-regular thumpings aren’t acceptable. I’m not convinced that’s down to Dewsnip though. And to change DoF *and* manager mid-season seems a push?

I think it’s time for Wayne to go. Although I’m not sure Hallett will feel able to at this point. And by the time he does, I fear it may be too late.

It’s not just the results though. It’s the repeated heavy defeats. Which never really happened last season. I’m normally in the ‘in Hallett we trust’ camp, but it’s time for Wayne to go. We can’t afford to let this continue, nor to let him spend the transfer window budget.

Of course. Derby went on to play us in the quarter-finals.

Hard agree. We started watching ‘Elizabeth R’ (Glenda Jackson) afterwards, as it was recommended by the iPlayer algorithm. Good, but a touch bonkers.

I’m less worried about that in November. I’ll leave that till March 😂

At the moment, if it’s a good result, I like the fact I won’t be fretting all day Saturday. But if it’s a bad one, it means even longer to ruminate over. I think last night counts as a good result?

Plus you get Olivier narrating The World at War. There’s few documentaries that can compete with that.

We were there in February. Really impressed by all the information boards, and especially the ‘visitors centre’ in a phone box in Branxton village. All volunteer done, apparently.

The World at War, whilst several decades old, is still amazing. Apparently you can stream on UKTV Play for free. There’s a brilliant French three parter on the Soviet Gulags available for free on YouTube.
