Devastating for scientists and their research, and everyone who benefits from that research. I’m not sure if everyone outside academia is aware that a delay or “pause” in grant funding often means the researchers themselves are lost from the field, along with their expertise.

Blenders might be the worst appliance. Every time I try to make a smoothie or something I end up with chunks of stuff. I've tried numerous blenders through the years and it's always the same. Add more liquid, too much liquid, too much ice, too full, not full enough. I just don't get it.
