The Labour Government running headlong from transphobia to autistiphobia. Suddenly there's money available to provide rapid mental health assessments when it helps with bigoted aims.

Nothing says feminism like mocking women for their appearance, right?

You know that counterintuitive probabilities thing where, eg, scanning for cancer among demographics unlikely to have it throws up way more false positives than true positives? I suspect, because trans people are such a tiny percentage of the population, the same will be true of bathroom bans

Popped into city centre Lush and apparently they've nearly sold out of trans bath bombs and haven't had much pushback. And their window hasn't been panned in! The anti-trans crusade really is mostly media and politicians.

You mean that one you’re all busy dismantling because you hate queers and love a moral panic? That Equality Act?

I always quite rated John Naighton as a tech writer but today he's recommending a post on Less Wrong, so.

"The fear is back. The fear I had when I first started my transition in 1979, that people will hurt me." Based in London, she still works in the mental health sector 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆. www.theguardian.com/society/2025... #LGBTQI #SpeirGorm #IrishSky #Trans

This morning @greenparty.org.uk has called for the EHRC’s harsh and ill-considered guidance on single-sex spaces to be withdrawn. As it stands the guidance puts trans people at risk of discrimination & violence, and clearly hasn’t been drawn up with trans people’s input. I’ll be pushing for better.

Between this and "I'm playing Dumbledore even though I'm AMERICAN" really seems like Lithgow has been briefed to muddy up the SEO for this show with a lot of "Oh so now it's illegal to make plans with friends"

Note: EHRC only issued an "update" re: trans people. It's framed to look like mandatory "guidance." CIPD, Personnel Today, etc. will report it is, but it contradicts current Statutory Codes! Proactively email your HR/boss stating this. Remind them firms acting on it risk ++ discrimination claims!

The Observer has actually, without noticeable irony, quoted a bit of a 1959 memo about the soul of the paper that involves "opposing those who work up hatred"

I assume "it's not terrorism" means the same in Canada as it does here - "it wasn't a Muslim"

I'm not harassing the teenager i I assaulted here's 400 pages I have written on her activities

Just announced by a coalition of Glasgow groups - lunchtime protest outside the local office of the Equality and Human Rights Commission, opposing their call for trans segregation. Friday 2nd May, 12pm-2pm.

They're bringing out the big guns now. Cunt was peacefully scamming the monks in a Tibetan monastery when they called him back for one last mission:

New Observer: just as transphobic as the old Observer

It is this, not arguing, but also this Labour party has been strikingly reluctant to occupy the commanding heights of the discourse. The last government made a bunch of attempts to embed right wing bias in institutions and processes; this government is content to leave them all in place.

The EHRC was captured by transphobes under the Tories and Labour could have appointed a new head but they did not, because they are also transphobic. Bigoted shits, the lot of them.

I just found out there are audiobooks of the novelisations of this year's Doctor Who eps and it's breaking my brain a bit

This tendency partly explains how the whole of the west has ratcheted rightwards - because our leftists are actually status quoists

the woke f-35

youtu.be/dhRKIZi60NI?... Really odd to see a news outlet doing a realistic reporting on the transphobic cancer at the heart of this country.

"I liked it when people had to put up with being inconvenienced by me"

As I said before, they aren't interested in policing any of this, so the talk of male cleaners in loos or a dad taking his daughter into the loo misses the point. The aim is to allow transphobes issue legal threats against venues or bodies they see as not being nasty enough to us tr*nnies 🫤

‘The problem with declaring yourself a defender of all things normal and sensible is that you’re often the last to notice when you have, in fact, gone bananas.’ The embarrassing truth about Britain’s trans panic: lauriepenny.substack.com/p/terf-islan...

This is a perfect example of meaningless election-time tat. It's not a proper graph, there is no label on the y-axis, and it's randomly posted for local elections with no specification of which area it's for. Embarrassing.

Oh but maybe if we're just a bit nicer and don't take the piss out of them online...

Yes. In a sane media environment, the bathroom ban would be the end of anyone treating 'gender critical feminists' as anything other than a hate group. It's a straightforwardly bigoted policy that imposes an insane 'solution' to a nonexistent problem.

Hahhh I forgot there were English council elections this week. That's gonna go well for Labour. It might just be a Scottish thing but watch out for them going into coalition with the Tories or even Reform to keep the Greens from getting overall control

The beauty of Bluesky is I keep forgetting people like Jimmy Concepts are out there pumping out insanity like this.

Great. So instead of worrying if that semi driver has been awake for 72 hours and has a system full of amphetamines I also get to worry if that semi is driven by a computer programmed by an 18 year old racist shit poster whose daddy knows Musk.

I hardly ever watch TV with my own subtitles on it because I end up like WHAT FUCKER HAS ADDED THAT UNNECESSARY COMMA

Vance's Easter visit to Rome clogged its streets with a 40-vehicle entourage. He also demanded the Coliseum be closed so he and his family could tour it alone. Tourists who properly booked slots in advance got screwed. He's apparently the first to make that demand. Then he didn't bother to show up.
