To my American followers (if any), I really am baffled and want real answers: I was chatting w/ a (US) family member and she became highly offended when I mentioned that where I live, anyone who becomes jobless are entitled to a state assistance equivalent to a COST OF LIVING allowance 1/

I kind of understand how Americans are turning to other countries to „save“ them from their country‘s predicament. But I also find it sad that most cannot find a way to help each other cope. Not in anger, or protest but just to build a better community TOGETHER.

I don’t get this „not my president“ schtick. Just because you didn’t vote for them, doesn’t make them any less legitimate. He occupies the office, makes policies and implement them on your (country’s) behalf. The responsibility lies on you to do something about it, no matter how small or big.
