Was worried his opposition to Trump might mean opposing Trump's full support of Israel killing every soul in Gaza. This comes as a great relief πππ

If you choose to break with your faction to maintain the value of your institutionally accrued legitimacy and prevent process breaking down, but not enough others do, you will be culled. It's safer not to do so, and so many bureaucratic states become dictatorial ones.

People in political positions in the US rely on both institutionally accrued legitimacy and factional adherence for their positions, and most would likely prefer not to be entirely dependent on their faction, meaning process must still matter. But it's a game of chicken.

It's less effective to achieve your goals than taking the effort to find loopholes or going through the typical political dealings to avoid process. But only so long as it doesn't reach the point where process no longer matters, as after that point it is the most effective it gets.

A monstrous letter. The wasted life is not his, but the countless people he massacred to maintain an empire whose fall he now grieves, along with some possible side effects from being near the chemical weapon he doused so many others in. A truly sickening read.

Shaming people into voting for your choice has never worked, and has only ever had the opposite effect. If you really cared about the outcome, and wasn't simply trying to launder your own conscience, you would be demanding more from the politicians- not from the voters.

Yet they're one millionth as responsible as the democratic leadership are, and the fact that you'd spend even a second of your time blaming them marks you as a fundamentally unserious person, or simply running cover for those who should be held responsible.

Always been the case, but when media was more centralised we could at least live in a consensus world of shared misinformation. This is what liberal gen x truly laments the loss of, having convinced themselves that the shared illusion was real and the new media misinformation by contrast is false.

He's right. If right-wingers truly believed abortion is murder and the system is unable to prevent it, they should be doing this, just as the left should be shooting more CEO's if they truly believe in social murder.
His appeal to neither doing so is because liberalism doesn't accept moral arguments
