agreed, and i vote w my $. however, if we vote w our money the richest get more votes, and those w/o money don't get to vote.
all i'm saying is: demonize some corps to your heart's content, but beware of idolizing any for doing sth good.

the saran wrap guy also did something nice - changed the formula so it's less destructive to the planet.
people can and do act morally. when walmart uses prison labor we say walmart is evil. it's actually the ceo being evil (though legal) and hiding behind the walmart name

"a company's value system", a company's culture, a school's spirit. we are looking at high schools, univs, countries and companies as humans w their own pnality and values.
i still love costco, but let's not imagine they are a champion against fascism.

yes! but it's not bec costco itself is a more moral entity. sears was a good entity and became bad? google was good (do no evil) and became bad? we humanize businesses and countries (russia is evil) and that's not smart

in the end, they are just businesses. stop making them into moral/self-aware entities.
costco pays well because they've seen that helps w employee retention. less turnover, less expense in training and less theft. good for the bottom line.
no business would do that if it cost them money
