Trying to reconcile my raging autistic sense of justice with the fact that the city will never, ever ticket the oversized pickup truck nextdoor that blocks the sidewalk all weekend, every weekend.

For my own sanity this week, I muted a lot of political words, and my feed has been almost empty. Can I have a balance, where it shows me every third political post or something? So I can stay informed but also not overwhelmed? (Just semi-whelmed.)

Just a heads up, signing up for Flashes seems to wipe all moderation settings for Bluesky. I had to go in through Bluesky (not Flashes) and reset everything the way I had it before, even for third-party moderation lists.

DCS SMRT finishes production next week, and is being collated and packaged now. It should be on its way to regional vendors after that!

Our cat is now on Prozac. Yeah, I feel that.

DSS Electronic Control System, based on the ECS T-03 terminal. I began work on this last summer, and it's finally getting to the point I feel it's developed enough to think about pitching it. (There's a number pad kit, too, but I can only post 4 pics at a time.)

Chilling.

Bluesky Flashes debuted today. It's a ghost town so far, but I'm praying it finally provides some IG competition to Meta.

Mathemagician: "For my next trick, I'll saw this fraction in half!"

My friend Mori's very first design goes on sale today!

Started watching The Gorge, and wasn't expecting it to turn into a Taster's Choice coffee commercial, with the occasional zombie thrown in.

"Meta has spent over $100 billion on VR"

We've reached the state of pet ownership where the cat's house is fancier than our own.

The Duolingo owl is just the first victim of RFK Jr.'s health policy.

Uninstalled Apple Maps, too. Sorry but I live in a world where I need directions to real locations, not fictional ones. You may as well just start assigning place names out of McDonaldland.

I use work Zoom meetings to practice making normal earthling facial expressions.

DCS Ulivi includes convex DCS minibars, a 10u spacebar, big-ass Enter, and a ton of other weird but cool stuff. Interest check is live now - fill out the feedback form there to register support, and show vendors you'd like to see it made! geekhack.org/index.php?to...

The year is 2046. President for Life JD Vance has declared the ozone layer "gay"

It’s just bleak that there’s a considerable amount of people who are like “thank goodness the worlds richest human being is stopping the tyranny of the consumer financial protection bureau and that guy who collects atmospheric data”

Despite her expression, her vet appointment for eyedrops went fine.

The interest check for DCS Ulivi is live now! Not sure how this one's going to fare; responses so far have ranged from hating the colors, to anger over offering IT/ES/PT language support. So if this is something you do want to see made, fill out the feedback form! geekhack.org/index.php?to...

Someday I want to visit Rome, and eat at the original Chuck E. Cheese.

The Tierwriter (2023), a typewriter-style ergonomic nightmare of my own creation. I couldn't find a keyboard with stepped rows like a typewriter, so I designed and built my own. You can too! github.com/jyuenger/Tie... #maker #keyboard #mechanicalkeyboards #customkeyboards

Emily Rose, September 2019

I took the Dasher colorway, hue-shifted it green, & added a Lucky Charms alert row. The result? Uncle O'Dasher, the St. Patrick's Day meme keyset you didn't know you needed. Come on, Signature Plastics, this would be like printing cash. 😉 #sa #keycaps #signatureplastics #sakeycaps #keycapdesign

Civ VII will be the first installment that I skip. Being forced to change civs midway through the game because some, like Egypt, can't be played beyond antiquity and need to be replaced feels fairly racist?

I've given up on the AirPod hearing aid experiment. My partner had their pair stolen, so I gave them mine to use. Hearing well after 40+ years was just too overwhelming and upsetting; I'd rather not experience that sensory overload.

What's the point of a passkey, if you're still going to make me go through a flaky captcha process, and then an easily-spoofed SMS "verification" anyway after I use it? Re: the captcha, these photos all look unnervingly like they were taken by a stalker in someone's bushes.

This is not the cool-looking, fun future that the Amiga SimCity Graphics Set 2 promised me.

"Have you tried reasoning with Killdozer?"

Is our new cat our old cat's stepsister? How does the genealogy work here?
