Flashes seems to populate your feed with any and all Bluesky posts where you've included media of your own. Posting a photo to one app automatically cross-posts it to the other, but making a text post on Bluesky doesn't cross-post it to Flashes, if there's no photo or video in it.

Yeah, most people I know pretty much actively refused to take up Mastodon or Pixelfed, which is why I've been hoping for this to be a game-changer.

I've used it for all of 30 seconds. As far as I can tell it doesn't have a separate contacts list. But it does have some new feed controls (only show replies from people you follow, minimum # of likes a reply needs to be shown in your feed, and a couple others.).

Like, I get the idea behind the game mechanic. I just hate it. It's an excuse to only design 1/3 of a civ, because each is stuck in one of three eras, and can't exist outside it. The erasure is incidental to the flawed concept, but makes it infinitely worse.
