I am nearly out of neroli perfume that I wear in summer, ands was going to look for another. My fall/winter favourite was made by a friend’s of mine. It’s aloeswood layered with woods and resins. I like that there are those notes in the base. 🩵

I think this is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Thanks for the serendipity!

I remember walking on the beaches in western Washington with my grandpa, who loved to pop the bulbs with his heel. Nature’s bubble wrap? Looking at your photos, it feels like blasphemy to pop them now..

Nope, that’s just perspective. Look at the moon phases..

Yup, I inked in the positive space instead of the negative on the 3/4ths full.

I learned an important lesson to not leave uncovered works out. And I was finally motivated to buy plastic sleeves. I’d been putting it off for months.

I discovered I didn’t like the composition, but I did learn from it. Still completely unnecessary. Except. Except! Why am I like this? Glad to know I’m not the only one.

Ha! Kindred spirit: cat sneezes on and ruins a piece that now can’t be included in this body of work (a series of heavily inked 12x16” drawings for a future gallery show), but I take a month to finish it anyway. The eternal conversation I have with myself: “oh, we’re doing this? Yes, yes we are.”

I’m lucky I can do my high skill job under almost any circumstance, but mundane tasks feel near impossible. I always had a good system, but then I had a head injury. And perimenopause. I’m surprised I haven’t managed to starve myself to death.

NOBODY WANTS THIS. I can barely tolerate Instagram in its current state, and how is the end game anything other than an endless feedback loop of AI generated everything just talking to itself? That can’t be a profitable model.

Thanks! I think I should do more colour things, then I remember how many layers of ink these poppies took. Each one has 3-5 colours, and at least 6 layers to get that level of saturation. (I’m insane, I know). It’s funny, in my fashion work, I almost never use black; everything is in vivid colour.

Sunshine? Just thinking about that book makes me crave cinnamon rolls.

(hard mode: no Star Wars, no Star Trek, no LotR) This cracks me up, because none of these even remotely crossed my mind.

In that form, it reminds me of a brio car. A solid wood triangle with wooden wheels.

I had one that I managed to get to bloom 3(?) times, and then I drowned it. This spiky one has a multiple clusters of leaves; in different stages of age, so I’m hoping it decides to bloom from those parts as well. Since I moved to a place with radiated heat, I’ve killed so many plants.
