It was fetishism 10000%. And oh dear god grody in the manner how US markets and shows received them. The homophobic comments from both as their career went on just...yeah. yeah.

But like...look up the film Yes there's a romance in there (subtle-ish?) But like It's a good song. Just the oof factor o.o Closest example I could give is the happy song at the end of End of Evangelion (hand claps and all)..called Komme Süsser Töd. Yeah.

Seriously. My first introduction to their music outside of anime OSTs was picking up a copy of At The Night Side with the dvd at a con. That and that particular performance of Kirameki... we're b l i s s

The visual aesthetic at that time really borrowed alot from the western emo/scene trend. I kinda got a weird stylistic parallel between Brendan Urie and Sakurai at that time (visual of course but not else, urie could N E V E R) Also the title track reminded me alot of Genzai off MLO <3

Plans were shelved to release stateside and the system discontinued due to the high cost at the time of release. Looking forward to getting lost in Parasite Eve again.

He signed my Schaft cds and have talked with him a number of times. Absolutely a class act. Real stand up dude. Last I saw him in person is when Pig was touring with Killing Joke 5 years ago

I think my workdesk still looks like imai-san's for the writing I've been doing. Keep them on a keyboard stand for easy tweaking

10) Subrosa - I. Loved. Schwein and Schaft. Raymond watts is one of the coolest people i ever interacted with. This album is high for me not just cos holy shit HIDE BRINGS IT But it evokes that edgey mid/late 90s EBM feel SO DAMN GOOD

7) 13Kai Wa Gekkou - The stage show is like if Goethe got drunk with Baz Luhrmann 8) Atom Future No 9 - it's an astroboy adjacent concept album. I was in love 9) Tenshi no Revolver - it took a while to grow on me. Especially shows how western Scene and Emo aesthetic influenced jp at the time
