I’m not a superhero. That’s for billionaires and narcissists. And adult orphans for some reason.

The carceral system polices gender as much as anything else -- men and women are in separate facilities after all -- and carceral authorities treat trans people and their needs with complete and utter disdain. They lie about costs all the time to avoid providing care.

I'm guessing it's harder to prove a policy of race based exclusion if you're just harassing everyone.

Does the vet that inspects their food contribute to lethality? If not, the food-borne illness will, I guess.

A lot of pedestrians seem to think a bell or on your left means "get the fuck out of my way" when it's really to let them know you're there so they don't startle and jump right in front of you.

Or instead of a special store, we can pay military members enough to pay for their groceries like everyone else.

A lot of stuff is getting shut down that the government doesn't even pay for. It's almost like this isn't about saving money!

You can also get a day pass for the bus if it's a little farther than a walk. They run frequently and you can show the pass on your phone.

It's a huge advantage over Florida. It's a lot easier to eat outside the park too. We stayed in a hotel and took the Anaheim bus in. The routes on that road pick up at the hotels and go straight to the park.

Laughs in "living near DC" Can't wait for all my local small businesses to close because too many people are unemployed.

This also means that other government agencies can't go after you or deny you services because of information they got from another agency if they don't need that info. There are walls between these agencies for good reason.

Consolidation is a huge threat. Government agencies do not talk to each other. This is annoying sometimes! But it means when I go through TSA, they don't know that I have a gun license, that I filed a discrimination complaint against my employer or that I didn't file my taxes.

Yes, the government can collect information for a specific reason. It's the sharing that is the issue. The IRS doesn't need to know if I have a gun license and DHS doesn't need to know that I filed an EEOC case two years ago. Need to know is the core of fed gov info gathering so it won't be misused.

Yeah, that was my biggest takeaway from November. We'll never see a woman nominated to our highest office again. Just more failsons and abusers, most likely.

USAID responded during Hurricane Katrina. Think about that for a minute. When the shit truly hits the fan we'll have no FEMA and no AID next time. And I doubt our allies will care to do much since we've pulled out of a cooperative system.

Weird that they haven't shown a single actual crime.

Thinking about all the humanitarians he fired this year and how dedicated they are, but "we need to save money."

But from what we know about their voters, it's not remotely true.

There should not be a single vote on another nominee until a bill is passed making clear that we do not rendition US citizens to other countries (or any other black site).

Is this why I saw someone in Congress hold up a lump of coal today? The sound was off on the TV and I assumed it was something dumb.

Noticed while in Banks' office that Fox News put the stock market ticker back up. How fun for them.

For every dingus who says they'll just rehire people to fix these mistakes: federal hiring is a 2 year process, sometimes more. Nearly every agency was understaffed before the cuts because federal hiring is so slow. It took me 14 months to get my last contract renewed and I already worked there!

Senator Kennedy, asked how constituents will be protected now that NOAA can't conduct vital programs for marshlands, said "they'll fix it later." Unclear how he plans to resurrect constituents likely to be killed by inadequate storm and flooding data. Hope someone asks him.

I feel like this is related to the relative popularity of hunting in Maine vs NJ. Maybe Jersey relies on vehicle strikes to keep the population down.
