You are not entitled to anyone's attention.
Stop judging them for being different from you and having different needs and tolerances. Coercing someone into interactions they don't want can induce stress you never imagined.
People are allowed to have boundaries from you. Especially on planes.

They may already have practiced plenty in their actual daily life.
"It's so easy to practice" may apply to you, but it doesn't apply to everyone.
There are things others find easy that you couldn't make happen with decades of practice.
Stop assuming all challenges are the same for all people.

Flying isn't a social event. It might be a rare time someone gets to read w/out interruption.
That book/those earbuds may be key tools in preventing a panic attack or meltdown.
Flying is not daily life for most people. Don't assume you know their daily life & whether or not they should practice.

1) So if someone is trying to get me to submit to their demands for sexual contact, I must comply?
2) Ah, yes, nobody ever talks with strangers the way they did back in the old ways - oh wait:

It's not about you. Be aware that people may be more than "inconvenienced" by your intrusion.
Earbuds aren't worn only to "be cool."
That don't-talk-to-me expression isn't always "pasted on" & exists for a reason that–surprise!–you may not be privy to.
You are NOT entitled to everyone's attention.

Nancy, I am not wearing headphones because I am adverse to risk.
I am wearing headphones because I Do Not Want To Talk To You.
Some people are wearing headphones because they will react adversely to Talking To You.
Do you really, really, really not see the difference?

So many reasons ppl just want to read or nap or not talk.
Now as a person who loves to talk to MOST other people, I suggest a brief introduction & something like “I love to chat to folks—it helps distract me—but I can see you’ve got a good book, so just lemme know & I’ll entertain myself.”

It only takes 4 Republicans in the House, or 4 in the Senate to stop this.

They had the security videos. Said it was a white guy. Deeply suspicious they changed that story. How would they KNOW it was an "undocumented migrant" no matter what they saw? Did he flash ID and show he wasn't documented? What? LIES. ALL LIES!!!
