Why is it that every time I have a mental breakdown and pour my entire soul into a public confession, I'm always met with deafening indifference? I feel like a joke.

Autistic humans are not lazy. We are not unmotivated. We are not procrastinators. Executive dysfunction is real. But it’s not the problem - it’s the signal that something is wrong. A sign that our nervous system is dysregulated, overwhelmed, in need of care. Not correction or fixing.

We know so much about neurodiversity in ourselves, but has anybody ever asked or researched if there could possibly be neurodivergency in other animals? What does that look like in apes? Wasps? Meerkats? Cat-cats? Are tabbies just cats with a 100% neurodivergent likelihood?

Given recent personal experience at work, the saying is true: "if you've met one person with Autism, you've met one person with Autism." And because that saying is true, that doesn't mean two autists will naturally coexist.
