Yes. Whatever they need to get the job done. ICE have a job to do as well, but interference of congressional oversight isn't one of them. They've asked nicely, now they they need escorts if ICE and DHS won't play ball.

And? They're there legally. What's he going to do? Illegally arrest them?

As I've heard quoted before, they keep bringing a butter knife to a gun fight, and it's wholly ineffective. You can't region and logic and consult the rules on the back of the box when they're playing by the ruleset of "I say no, and nothing is illegal for me to do because there's no consequences."

I would argue this isn't defiance; they're doing their job of oversight and being denied. This also isn't the first time this has happened, so showing up, crossing your fingers and saying "Sir, I strongly disagree and I filled out the appropriate forms!" isn't going to do anything. They need force.

The exasperated "Oh my God..." after his non-answer is just... everyone and every right now. None of them takes any of this seriously and it's so annoying.

"87 out of 10,000 top customers have committed to it." That's 0.0087%. Thats nothing. This is for nobody. Private clouds in 2025 like it's 2013 again? Good luck.

Imagine seeing your replies in nearly every thread here like this chair molested you, ON TOP of your own unhinged rant on your own feed, and not thinking you might need therapy.

The real goal in the future will be hiring someone who knows what information they'll need to ask an AI because they've ever bothered to read a book at some point in their lives. This ain't going to make people smarter. The classic "There's a thousand channels and nothing is on " problem.

"I'm just here to get my boots dirty, have a hotdog, and do forcible regime change under the guise of immigration reform in a city where I don't like the politics of the sitting populace. Haha, I'm so basic."

That's a very on-the-nose answer like they're expecting there to be other manufactured crises in the near future, like in the cities they just announced raids in. It's almost like they're doing all of this on purpose.

Or, you know, just ban them from trading stocks and put term limits. The things people have wanted for a long time.

In fact, the next journo to interview Sam Altman who does not begin by saying ‘What’s the difference between what you’re doing and what Aaron Swartz did, apart from him doing it for free and you to add to your Scrooge McDuck piles of gold?’ should no longer be able to call themselves a journalist.

I don't necessarily want someone mean, but I really need a candidate that's willing to accurately describe the absurdist stupidity that's going on around us in terms that people can relate to. Like "breaking the 4th wall" levels of staring at America and going "Are you seeing this? It's nuts, yeah?"

Hi 👋 since ya said post your stuff - I'm wrapping up development on a Castlevania clone, been working 7 days a week for 1.5 years straight as a solo dev doing all the art, code, marketing, etc, and still don't have a publisher. store.steampowered.com/app/3624840/... www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FFl...

Not really. 1x Blu-ray read rate is 36Mbps. I have a "16x" combo drive that, on rips, barely hits 4-5x on a BR. Assuming it could even hit 16x, that's just barely over USB2 max ideal speed. 8x above half, 5x not even close. USB3 power, def, but it'd be largely wasted on bandwidth. BR tech predates.

My degree is in computer science. I know a *lot* about computers. That means I *really* don’t like computers and I can provide references.

It's me, unironically. Grew up on it. Drifters, Temptations, etc. Some of it is definitely "Alright, we get it!", but a lot of it is catchy with redeeming value, especially the Drifters.

They've put legal means in place so that the rules don't apply. This has nothing to do with what I think. Man, I hope that the guardrails hold, but you're not living in the reality of right now. They'll go path of least resistance until rubber meets road; we've already seen the angry mob once.

"Well, we went to the Supreme Court, which interprets the Constitution, and they say this isn't a thing, and I can do it unilaterally." Simply saying "But the rules!" means nothing to this crowd. Nobody expected them to hand him complete executive immunity, either, but here we are.

2016: "Nah, they'll never elect him." 2021: "No way he escapes going to prison." 2022: "No way they'll overturn Roe v. Wade." 2023: "No way he'll run again." 2024: "No way he'll win again." Don't say never. The cult is very interested in retaining power and keeping the grift going.
