@raskin.house.gov New nightmare from Musk firing rampage

Regardless of how much coverage it gets, Trump aiming to install a military command that places loyalty to him above loyalty to the constitution needs to be a much bigger story.

This is astounding -- and inspiring. @kenmartin.bsky.social

I keep thinking about Trump saying that he needed the kind of generals that Hitler had.

👏

Is Trump's new top military chief a MAGA loyalist? Was Gen. Dan #Caine really wearing a MAGA hat while on duty, (violating the rules)? Time for all those Pentagon reporters to go into action, and inform us. @fairmediawatch.bsky.social @froomkin.bsky.social nytimes.com/2025/02/21/u...

NEW: In a win for democracy, the U.S. Supreme Court paused an emergency request from Trump and allowed the head of the whistleblower agency to remain in office until a Feb. 26 hearing.

That would be, of course, illegal.

'Because that's what I do.'

Rs must really want to anger their voters -- who are already increasingly angry -- by making it really hard to vote. Ds (esp in D states) will make sure ALL voters are able to vote.

Masterfully done, Judge Ho: www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

The true King was right.

NEW: Judge Dale Ho appoints Paul Clement to present “friend of the court” arguments on the government’s motion to dismiss Eric Adams’s charges.

Federal workers, you're not alone! Check out these resources about how to report wrongdoing if you witness it.

Finnish MEP Mika Aaltola reports that the Trump led US has given Europe three weeks to agree on terms for Ukraine’s surrender to Russia. "Trump prioritizes Russia’s security concerns now and in the future. Let them own their mess. We have three weeks to grow up." www.kyivpost.com/post/47574

Exactly.

“Back channel” and “behind the scenes” doesn’t work. Never has. Come out and say it!

@timothysnyder.bsky.social‬ I understand this is a shorthand, but "Americans" did not propose this. Most Americans are, according to polling, opposed to this. That said, your writing and reporting are essential to this fight.

The wonderful @propublica.org is providing this projects.propublica.org/elon-musk-do... If you are not already supporting them, get on it...

As @daniellebrian.bsky.social told Harpers, DOGE "could fire every single federal employee and still not accomplish their goals" of significantly reducing the federal budget. Instead, policymakers should reform the way the government works with contractors harpers.org/archive/2025...

And of course there is no public transportation in much of America, especially the rural areas (because freedom) - and many seniors have no cars and/or cannot drive and are alone.

Trump administration is planning to use polygraphs to assess federal employee loyalty. There are ways to manipulate polygraph results, and we will provide guidance to coalition members. Polygraph results are not admissible in court due to their potential for false positives and negatives.

If you've resigned or been RIFfed/fired from a federal government job, No. 1: sign up here for 3 months free of POLITICO Pro www.politicopro.com/loyalty-brid... No. 2: Please DM me here or Signal (in bio) with what you hear is going down at your former agency.

I don't think the Dems can stop the firings. But why aren't they proposing legislation that assures those that took the buyout get paid , and that all that are fired, get at least a year severance and health benefits? And any one with a health condition is covered the entire time they are sick?

Trump order boosts school choice, but there’s little evidence vouchers lead to smarter students or better educational outcomes

Netanyahu's claim that the negotiating team – which he himself appointed, and which worked only within the mandate he gave them – engaged in independent policy is ridiculous. But when has a claim's ridiculousness ever stopped Netanyahu from making it?

What I’ve been saying (screaming). Now there’s data.

"Trump is a sheep in wolf’s clothing. The wolves can tell the difference"

Correct. He’s not capable of playing multidimensional chess. Or chess. Or checkers. Or tic-tac-toe. As one of his aides put it during Shit Show I, “he’s just eating the pieces” on the board. Nothing he does is strategic. He’s purely guided by narcissistic, sociopathic impulses at all times.

If agencies are now supposed to avoid enforcement actions that raise constitutional questions, then the EEOC chair should scrap her plan to pursue Title VII enforcement against employers who allow trans people to use appropriate bathrooms/locker rooms
