Daffodils can survive under snow. Mine have in the past. Like a solid covering of snow and ice. I’ve always trimmed my bearded irises in the fall. Cut back 2/3 of the leaves and just leave them. I’ve never cleared the remainder in the spring.

I know for certain I have anchovies, gobies, sciaenidae spp., a pipefish. Won’t know the full make up until we do the taxonomic breakdown. At which point we all play the game: where is the anus?
