artists will be like “I love fat girls” and then exclusively draw women with enormous milkers and tiny waists who appear to have had liposuction on their neck and arms. This is why I have become a supervillain

Rashi says he chopped them down when entering the orchard by which I assume he means specifically Pardes, since Acher was one of the four who entered Pardes.

Chagigah 15a!

To be fair, if I got smitten with sixty rods of fire just because Acher took me for a second deity, I would also be tilted.

Fascinating how many of my moots are on that one.

Ah, forgot to link the source. Here it is.

There's a question of what the dispute between Hillel and Shammai is even about, and some (like Rambam in Mishneh Torah) say that this is only a leniency to increase joy during the holiday.

Beitzah 9a, but it talks about moving a ladder between the dovecotes on Yom Tov, so it's more complicated. 😅

To be fair, not being edible speaks in favour of being kosher! Only edible things can be treyf.
(this is how some rabbis in the past argued in favour of gelatin being kosher – it’s made from bones and bones aren’t considered edible)

It's all this but also the fact that she's fat to me. The way body shaming targets fat girls is really not dissimilar from how trans girls are being shamed for their bodies.

It's so good. I love all the girls so much.

The fact that she's afraid of telling her husband that she doesn't like his favourite cartoon show is pretty worrying, ngl.

I think this is a bit of a cul-de-sac tbh. Yes, many GCs are not in any way feminists, but there *are* influential transphobic radical feminists. Their influence waned as the GC movement started cooperating with the Nazis more and more but TERFs who literally fit what the acronym describes do exist.

This isn't about this. I vaguepost for a reason even though I am very angry about the situation. What I can say is that if you don't know what this is about even though things exploded really badly, you're probably happier off.

I'm not Swedish but as somebody who knows Norwegian and heard quite a bit of Swedish (there's a degree of mutual intelligibility here) I can say that Wiktionary's recording sounds correct. :)

Solidarity doesn't mean I have to tolerate somebody's presence on my profile or in my personal life. It doesn't mean I have to be buddies or socialise with them. It doesn't mean I have to agree with them or be nice to them. It just means I recognise we're part of the same fight and act accordingly.

This approach angers me so much because IMO it also cheapens the meaning of solidarity.
Like, solidarity to me means helping my people as I can when they're in need even if I hate them (not talking about cases when somebody's genuinely unsafe). It doesn't mean I won't call them on their bullshit!!

Yeah. It's frankly exhausting because it's very visible that for some people these are just words and Internet drama, and others live in a perpetual fear of online ostracisation directly affecting their means of survival.

To be clear, I mean a fight for a better syllabus, not with the tradcath debate bro.

I'm a bit tempted to stay however because the teacher is open to changing the lectures a bit, and considering that all the authors in the current syllabus are white men, and the only woman he considered including is Hannah Arendt, I feel like maybe there's a fight here worth picking.

Seriously. Like, I'm not even exaggerating. The teacher started explaining the difference between the correspondence and coherence theories of truth, and this guy just launched into a tirade how the latter is a liberal manipulation leading to agnosticism.

Selfpup writer also sounds very transfem-coded though.

Seriously. And the sneering about theory that I've seen fits this as well. Really no different from how conservatives whine about eggheads or proclaim that people are sick of the experts.

The current wave started after Blaize, Aria, and me joked about the straights. And yet people didn't really go after me, and the attack on Blaize dissipated. They went after Aria and Talia. The pattern is clear. You'd just expose yourself to more harassment.
