Aw, what a shame. Elon lost almost $7B today.

I swear, when that photo came out - Al Jolson makeup + orange safety vest -- I honestly thought his campaign was toast.
I was wrong.
Maybe people thought it was AI... who knows.

"Voting" and "Counting the votes" are, in fact, two very different processes, Mr. Vice President.

Yeah.
The others will ruin their departments. RFK means healthcare will suffer, Hegseth means troops will die, etc. But this one means that anyone who dares to criticize this regime will have his door kicked in the next day.
Bluesky will be shut down within 90 days, I predict.

The headlines are screengrabs, and Fox had that one in red for whatever reason.

Notably, no "backlash" from a single elected Republican.
Not one.
Also, not a single mention on Fox News.
So, the "backlash" is all from the same people that have been warning us that Trump wants to be a dictator?

Guyana, not Ghana.

This assumes that free and fair elections will continue to happen.
I see no reason to make that assumption.

That's not how cults work. No one forced most of the 900 people in Guyana to drink poison. They volunteered.
I would say that only 25% or so of Americans are fully in the cult, but the rest of the Trump supporters fear the cult more than anything else.
IOW: None of them will ever turn back.

Optimistic Evil Spock (OES) spent October annoying his friends and family with, "She's got this. The polls are a mess. Americans aren't this stupid."
OES is dead and buried, and Kash Patel becoming FBI director is akin to pouring concrete over OES's grave.
This country is finished.

Sorry, Virginia voted against Trump all three times.
That's the litmus test for federal aid these days, it would appear.

I will continue to believe that, unless someone can answer this simple question:
WHY WOULDN'T HE?

Richest man in the world AND the de facto head of the federal government, who now has access to every federal spending record in history, including every citizen's tax returns.
Elon: "Gee George Cheeks, it looks like you didn't give much to charity last year. LOL."
Nothing to stop him.

It's simple: Tate is a huge Trump supporter.
That's literally all it takes.
Patricia Ayers is serving a 1500-year federal sentence. If she gets her lawyer to record her praising Trump, she'll be free the next day. Bet on it.

Agreed that it's worth a shot, especially given the traditionally low turnout in special elections.
Turning Gaetz's old district blue would be sublime.

I think you underestimate his cult. "Even though I have to move in with my daughter and we're eating ramen noodles every night because my medications now cost more than she makes, Trump and Elon got rid of DEI! It was worth it!"

FL-01 is R+19 in the Cook PVI. That's a tall order. Keep in mind, the geniuses who live there re-elected Matt Gaetz a couple of months ago, so Jimmy Patronis' multiple fraud scandals make him seem mainstream for a Florida Republican.

And yet he will gladly vote for Kash Patel as FBI director. Because, reasons.

Perhaps. But that increases the risk of Putin using tactical nukes in Urkraine.
He could well take the OJ view: "Well if I can't have it/her, no one can."
comment in response to

I honestly don't understand how Putin is financing this war. Russia's GDP is less than Italy or Brazil, and they're spending 1% of it every month on the war. 10,000 tanks. 800,000 men. The oligarchs won't wait forever; eventually Putin is going to get a surprise 9mm impeachment.

The most disturbing part of this story is that two of the idiots are schoolteachers.
We literally have no hope if these two represent even a small slice of public education.

Nixon: When the president does it, it's not illegal.
Trump: Exactly. He who saves his Country does not violate any Law.
Nixon. Wait, hold on. That's so not what I said.

I recently tossed a box for a Technics turntable that I bought in, I think, 1972. A turntable that I think I gave away in 1992.
Top that!

True. Nothing wrong with being a sex worker, but I'm not sure it makes someone qualified for Congress.
Just like Melania: Dumber than a bag of rocks, so doing porn and being an expensive call girl was really her only choice. But she shouldn't have qualified for an Einstein visa.
