I think there's an argument there sure. But maybe you could say that in a way he stopped being hip hop, but debatably it's a new superior art form?
This is more like rhythmic punnery, rap as more analogous to a collegiate debating contest rather than being especially listenable.

Foggerty's vocals are the main novelty. I like the social commentary, a 10 occasionally like on Fortunate Son. But usually I'm not totally feeling it.

Something about the low sounds with this band is very special. Like you can play it on your laptop and hear the low, earthquake like rumbling on your stomach.
