Who wants to start a national cooperative postal system

I will vote for the first candidate who tells me they're going to make the biggest government possible. Reacher-sized agencies. Braun Strowman-level social benefits. Government so big it starts belching out National Parks and free healthcare. Chungus State.

it's such an obvious tell that capitalism doesn't work in practice when the capitalist class unites around around the guy that's making sure nobody has money to spend at your business. like it's so clear that there are no incentives for things like "have good product" or "care about people at all"

And you’ll still have zero education.

Pushpa!

One thing Democratic leadership could do right now is to name an alternate HHS secretary--someone to provide ongoing public updates and health information. And do it for other departments too. Start showing voters what a Democratic government would look like--press conferences, speeches, all of it.

the reason I am not particularly worried about billionaires surviving the apocalypse in secret bunkers is that pretty recently we had an actual doomsday scenario and all of those guys went insane within like two weeks

Microsoft's own research confirms something that was already pretty obvious: relying on a text generating machine to come up with answers erodes critical thinking, and is a method favoured by those who never liked doing critical thinking in the first place advait.org/files/lee_20...

When someone says “why isn’t anyone DOING anything,” it sometimes seems to me that they’re looking for a superheroic action that saves the day rather than the kind of steady, human-scale work that actually is happening and could use your help if you have some time

US Consumer Product Safety Commission out here demonstrating a better understanding of the current media environment than the entire NY Times editorial board.

They want to rip our culture away from us, but our culture doesn’t live in a building. It doesn’t exist only because a board says so. It occurs in all of us. And if they’re going to corrupt the historic institutions of our culture, we can simply take it elsewhere. They can’t steal your voice.

No surprise that VC-funded tech bros have no idea how hard it is to build sustainable institutions.

one of my strongest held beliefs is that we will not fix any of our most serious problems unless we are willing to hold a Nuremberg for social media executives, funders and engineers

Got them barely-made-it-to-a-site-of-grace jitters:

After Vance ousts Trump with the 25th amendment all executive orders will be issued in Latin.

I think normie subreddits banning x while insisting it’s not political is a good sign. It suggests their antifascism is pre-political, that it’s cultural. That’s how we win. Upstream.

I don't think I need to clarify my stance on the topic but these soccer folks summed it up

Feels like a lot of liberal institutions are going to decline/collapse in the coming years as they thread the needle between Republicans who will always hate them and Democrats who demand resistance, finding an audience of nobody.
