You have to do the dance.

I didn't imply anything. I asked you a question because you keep declining to address Republican political violence. I haven't said anything about the current president. Again, we can all see that you have this trolling script that has no basis in reality. You're bad at this.

Ah. So my examples are "just one guy". But yours are the worst thing that has ever happened. Yeah we see how things are arranged here bro. Kavanaugh being a little nervous definitely trumps two dead and two hospitalized. Keep going. You're doing great.

I can’t help but notice that you didn’t actually address what I said. Just more histrionics that only apply to everybody who is not on your side.
Again, we can all see that you’re a disingenuous pos. This is a useless exchange. I’ll be bowing out.

That is how they define success yes.

Allred in particular makes me angry. Early on, I was hopeful that his efforts were genuine. I also asked people to give it a chance. I *still* believe that paying and even taking on debt to boost yourself to a better career can be worth it. But sharks like this make it so it will never be safe.

Okay that's one. Is that all you need as "proof" of broad statements? Because I can certainly meet that standard.
Also, Kavanaugh is alive. Representative Melissa Hortman is not. Who would you say is doing more actual killing these days?

Here's the last time I went off about this asshole last year. After he finally got sanctioned by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

And yet somehow he is still the VC golden boy for debt-driven paid education schemes. It makes no sense. Until you realize that the fix is already in. They keep letting Allred try, because he has proven to them that he is ready to do the rug pull when it's time to cash out.

The fact that Austin Allred is still able to receive copious amounts of investment capital is the best example of how it was never a "meritocracy" game. Allred has failed at this game for a decade. Not only because he's dishonest and disingenuous. But because he's also incompetent at it.

You said "leftists" are killing people who don't wear masks. Let's see your proof champ. This should be good.

We learned about this when Biden won over other Dems in the 2020 primary. Black people vote Democrat. But they're not more informed than anyone else on average. People mostly just pick the name they recognize.

My favorite question is "what would have to happen for you to lose confidence in the process?"

Imagine being 84 years old and still wanting to be in the mix. I'm like hell yeah I'll be at home. Or on a beach. Don't call me unless it's important.

I mean my big revelation was also that this is their job. Like we are expecting people to opt-in to being unemployed, while also calling them ineffectual. I'm not sure how that's supposed to work. Even if they have more than enough money, it's a hard sell psychologically.

My actual advice is to stop talking to people who make a million dollars and asking them what they think. There aren't enough of those people to represent a societal message. Their *donations* certainly impact elections. But we don't have to keep giving them outsized cultural influence as well.

I'm not saying it's a rational concern. But if we're learning anything these days, it's that the number of people around us who are able to look at these things rationally is much smaller than we wish it was.

So just to circle back. We might want to start looking for nuance in messages like this. They might care about taxes. But they might also be worried that Mamdani represents the progressive "eat the rich" vibe they keep hearing. And they're not sure if that includes them.

Just due to the nature of my work and my wife's work, I've had much more contact with people who have way more money. Like enough money where it's impolite to ask them about it. Only some of them talk about tax rates when politics comes up. And anecdotally, it's not the majority I don't think.

For those who don't know me that well yet, I used to talk about money a lot on the bird site. I try to be transparent about my background and my successes. I'm not rich, but I have enough money for the internet to be mad at me sometimes when we're discussing inequality.

There are always going to be those people asking "can we really afford this kind of infighting?"
But the reality is the Democratic Party leadership is not on our side. I don't actually know what they want other than to keep their jobs. But at this point, they are a liability.

If I was one of these popular candidates, I would consider leaning way into that message. I would tie voting for me to sending a message to Democrats that we want a change in leadership. If that was happening everywhere, I think we would see things start to shift.

We can't get the government to do shit that is our interests right now. All of these issues dovetail together. And they all roll up to the fact that our institutions are fundamentally broken right now.

It's not always so black and white. Arguing about "usefulness" isn't the issue. They have deep concerns with the negative impacts of the tech. And they feel that no amount of utility can outweight those impacts.

People continue to think they can solve problems by arguing with inanimate things instead of dealing directly with the humans who keep fucking shit up.

I think this is reasonable. But the people I'm talking to aren't that interested in parsing this nuance. I'm communicating with the folks who are taking a much harder line.

I also don't mind acknowledging that by actively engaging and talking about it, I'm tacitly helping to normalize it and this working against banking efforts. I just want to say that out loud too so folks know that I'm self-aware about it. I continue to believe that the tech is not the problem.
