The climate crisis will not be solved with electric cars. We name the root of the problem: racial capitalism. We are committed to confronting and transforming capitalist systems of race based economic exploitation, extraction, and imperialism that are destroying our planet.

As a close collaborator with Trump, Musk is complicit with the administrations destructive attacks on our climate including: + Withdrawing from the Paris Agreement + Suspending Environmental Justice programs + Declaring an energy emergency to expand oil and gas production
comment in response to post
And if you want to ask why, as climate activists we are protesting a company that makes electric vehicles, let's make it clear: Elon Musk does not give a fuck about the climate or environment. Tesla is the 5th worst producer of toxic air pollution nationally.

As the unelected head of DOGE Musk has slashed TENS OF THOUSANDS of jobs at federal agencies and dismantled key offices that ensure food, health, and environmental safety to Americans. This has real and devastating impacts to people across the country.

Musk's unelected role in the federal government was bought and paid for. He donated over 250 MILLION DOLLARS to Trump's campaign to install a fascist in the presidency and buy himself a seat in the Oval Office.

Protests at Tesla dealerships erupted across the country yesterday. Everyday people are rising up to confront Elon Musk. This fascist oligarch is endangering the livelihoods of millions of people in the US and around the world while he robs us blind.

Today's arrestees won't need to post bail (NYC got rid of bail for many types of arrests a few years ago). But funds will go toward legal support for today's protesters as well as art supplies, training and recruitment materials, and other things needed to put on many more of these kinds of protests

This type of violence does not dissuade us. We will SHUT DOWN Wall Street and these greedy CEOs any chance that we get. Our future depends on it.

Private security, conference attendees, and the NYPD responded to our peaceful protest with aggression—grabbing us around the neck, throwing us us to the floor, and pulling us through doors. Six of our friends were eventually arrested for refusing to leave the space.

These private equity firms and hedge funds pour trillions of dollars into fossil fuel projects and weapons-manufacturing.  They then turn around and donate millions to Trump and other politicians to enable them to carry out their fascist agenda.

Expanding the Iroquois Pipeline is an environmental injustice. We must continue our fight against fossil fuel infrastructure, especially in blue states, which CAN and SHOULD expand climate initiatives during a Trump presidency.
comment in response to post
Allowing new fossil fuel infrastructure to be built while we are in a CLIMATE EMERGENCY underscores Gov. Hochul’s record of ignorance and contempt when it comes to decarbonization efforts. We cannot address the climate crisis if we don't turn off the tap on fossil fuels.

Compressors regularly release this toxic gas straight into the air to regulate pipeline pressure. These hazardous and localized chemicals exemplify the intersection between the fossil fuel industry and health impacts like cancer and neurological and respiratory disease.
comment in response to post
Compressors are the dirty, explosive engines that compress gas to force it along the pipeline route. This short-sighted decision will lead to the release of dangerous pollutants like benzene, NOx, particulate matter, and volatile organic compounds from the compressor stations.
comment in response to post
Last Friday, the NY state regulators approved permits for an expansion of the Iroquois Natural Gas Pipeline involving two new compressor stations in Dover Plains and Athens, NY. Hochul could have stopped this.

Trump’s staff is already trying to ‘soften’ his statements following international backlash. Do not be fooled. His intentions, and those of Netenyahu, are crystal clear. WE MUST CONTINUE TO FIGHT FOR PALESTINIAN FREEDOM AND SOVEREIGNTY. 10/10

Millions of Palestinians have already been forced by Israel to live in stateless limbo for generations. Millions more would become stateless and forced into inhumane refugee camps under Trump’s plan. 9/10

This would immediately put Gaza’s coast under threat from spills and increased emissions. It would continue and expand the power of oil and gas billionaires to reshape power and politics around the world. It must not be allowed to happen. 8/10

We, in the US, must prevent this genocidal outcome. Occupation of Gaza will give Trump access to gas-rich waters off its coast. Chevron has been eyeing it for years. Trump’s announcement is profit-driven, serving the billionaires who put him in power. 7/10

Trump’s picks have made clear their intention. Mike Huckabee, his Ambassador to Israel, has said outright that “there is no such thing as a West Bank.” His UN ambassador, Elise Stefanik, said in her confirmation hearing that Israel has a “biblical right” to the West Bank. 6/10

Every person of conscience in the US should now PREPARE TO RESIST A DIRECT US MILITARY OCCUPATION OF GAZA. Trump will not stop at Gaza. He would next use US Troops to occupy and ethnically cleanse the West Bank. 5/10

This would entail US troops being sent to Gaza to violently and permanently force Palestinians out of their land. The resulting death and suffering would be unimaginable. A massive genocidal campaign in the name of US territorial expansion would ignite in Gaza and beyond. 4/10

This absolutely horrifying announcement falls squarely in-line with the priorities of this billionaire-led administration: to profit off the harm, exploitation, and mass displacement of ethnic minorities. 3/10

Alongside a smiling Netanyahu, Trump laid out a plan to displace ALL 2 MILLION PALESTINIANS from their ancestral homelands, and to “develop” Gaza, as a US territory, into the “Riviera of the Middle East” for the world’s elites. 2/10

Trump’s drilling push isn’t about energy—it’s about power. Prioritizing short-term finance over livable futures exposes who governments really serve: corporations, not communities. The Arctic isn’t for sale. Defending it requires dismantling extractivism root and branch. 6/6

Here are four things any reasonable politician would do: 5/6

Follow the money: JPMorgan, Chase, Citi, Blackrock, and Vanguard bankroll Arctic destruction. They pour billions into drillers and corrupt politicians. Finance capital fuels this ecocide. 4/6

Biden’s “protections” failed us too. By excluding ConocoPhillips’ Willow Project and relying on last-minute reversible executive orders, Corporate Dems left the door wide open for this reversal. Climate justice requires systems change, not temporary paperwork. 3/6

The Gwich’in people’s survival is under threat. Drilling in the Arctic Refuge destroys sacred lands and the Porcupine caribou herd they depend on. Complex ecosystems face irreversible fragmentation. Colonial extraction continues to sacrifice Indigenous sovereignty. 2/6
