When I have a specific craving, I need it filled right at that moment. Because if it isn’t, how will I ever eat again?! Anyway, shout out to @angryblacklady.bsky.social for fulfilling my Huevos rancheros craving this morning. 🙌🏾

Teachers teach. We need a leaderful movement, and there are leaders all around us.

Happening now: protesters are outside the Fine Arts Building on Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago this evening. People are in line to see House of Reps Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries for an event tonight promoting his recently released book. Crowd chanting at them, "we don't need a book tour!"

And ballots. Which is why we always talk about how bodily autonomy and democracy are inextricably linked

If you aren’t following Raquel. If you don’t know of Raquel. Change that today. She is lovely, brilliant, powerful, kind, and so much more. 🖤

I’m really missing my dad today.

I love how Jasmine Crokett's voice, fire, and fortitude are being elevated right now, but I am also so weary bc you know the ✋🏻's loooooove a sassy BW they can support and quote and digitally high-five - until they don't.

Today, I found out that the Department of Defense banned the Well-Read Black Girl anthology by Glory Edim. I was one of its contributors. I'm really hurt right now. So if you have it in you, please buy books by Black women from independent bookstores.

I had no business singing this song at 15 like it was my real life.

i told her to tell everyone lol i'm toiling over here. TOILING. but it's worth it.

Hello Bluesky. I’m here to let it be known that @angryblacklady.bsky.social is winning girlfriend of the year award today by way of the kitchen. From a delicious breakfast of the best scrambled eggs and lox over toast to now making lasagna with the lamb bolognese. 🏆

Well gee whiz. Who could have ever guessed this would happen *** States with abortion bans see more births but also more infant deaths, studies show abcnews.go.com/Health/state...

You know what, I can write later. 🥹

Ah, the 1930s Germany frame. But in the post-reconstruction era, America had Jim Crow, the resegregation of the federal workforce, and deadly pogroms against black people in the South. We’ve been here before. It’s just it didn’t happen to white people. Where do yall think Germany learned from?

@angryblacklady.bsky.social made lamb bolognese tonight that was so good, I was missing it before I finished my plate.

Today is a day to have wine with my lunch pancakes.

This.

🖤

If someone writes this book—preferably a trans person—it would be my honor to edit and champion it. I will bring the manuscript in hand to my publisher myself.

Anxious/fearful avoidant, with SO MUCH therapy. Imani and I work because we’re both as committed to therapy as we are to each other. Could you imagine anxious/fearful and dismissive avoidant people trying to make this work *without* therapy? 😅 Abandonment issues are wild. 🙃
