yep. when people start complaining they can't afford essentials the retort will be "ok, big baby, cry about your dolls!! Cry like a little girl about your frilly dolls!!"

I was wondering this the other day about the "what the hell" gesture where you raise your arm, palm up (Charli XCX does it in a recent SNL video). There must be a name for it??

yep. he doesn't mean "your kids and grandkids will work there when they grow up." you won't be able to retire and they're throwing out child labor laws. you'll be working there at 65, side by side with your 35 year old kid and 15 year old grandkid.

Yeah. It's the same logic as "why do I get catcalled when I'm in sweatpants with the flu and haven't showered??" Well, because they're being cowardly, they don't want to catcall someone who looks powerful and confident.

She gets treated like that BECAUSE she comes across as nice. From the perspective of a jerk who actively wants to bully someone.... who are they going to target, the sweet nice quiet one who might cry, or the stone faced one who might actually roll their eyes/snap back? Obviously the first one.

in person D&D, of course, was absolutely cratered by the pandemic; I lost a spot in an in person game both due to safety & the DM having to move back to his hometown after losing a job as a chef

ironically, the image chosen to illustrate the article shows cosplayers portraying characters that originated *not* in comics, but in "Critical Role," an actual play D&D twitch stream

"Our bartender told us emphatically not to go to a certain donut shop that lots of people recommend online lol." The one with the pink boxes? absolutely correct, not worth it

also, there's nothing a harasser lovesmore in this world than to be able to play the victim - to paint their target as irrational, "crazy," hysterical, over-reacting, etc. which is exactly what would happen if this girl attacked her racist roomie.

you see this often with women discussing their experience w. sexual harrasment. "You should have slapped him!" "All women should learn martial arts!" This is real life, not a Saturday morning cartoon. If I violently attack someone for an off color comment or a catcall *I'm* getting fired/arrested.
