Snow mountains for sure, but not like as crazy as they get as you go further west. I live on the edge of North Carolina and Tennessee so the whole area is part of the Blue Ridge Appalachian mountain range.

I actually don’t remember what I was cooking at all, this was probably like 2016 I think?? And I live in the mountains and there’s just turkeys all over the place here. I almost saw a wreck the other day because one ran out suddenly into the middle of one of the main roads in town

I really like the second one, but it’s like totally detached from what the first one is. But if you go into it with just the mindset of it being a campy 80’s slasher then I think it’s a lot of fun.

2 is really worth checking out! The rest aren’t great though sadly.

The stuff with them was super disappointing to see, I hated how they handled that.

I feel the same, there’s a lot of absurdity in the situations they are in but there very much is an emotional heart to it that gets downplayed unfortunately.

Also, just on the films about being an artist idea, if you’ve never seen Babette's Feast I’d really recommend it. It’s one of my favorites of all time and is to me the best film I’ve ever seen about what it means to make art and on about the power that art has to do good.

I really love the movie and have always hated the way people talk about it. I think the “it’s bad on purpose” kind of arguments that people bring up with it are really taking away from it as a work.

I agree there completely, I also unfortunately think the first half is a lot stronger than the second.

I don’t know why, but their iced coffee is sometimes fine, sometimes good, and about one in ten times or so it’s unbearably bad. I don’t know how that happens.

I’ve not actually gotten on a train yet outside of missions I’ll need to make that happen.

Yeah it’s such a bad idea, to make a movie that even slightly works at all you’d have to fundamentally change most everything that is appealing about it in the first place. There’s a reason those Dark Souls and Bloodborne comics don’t really work and never took off, or the ER manga.

Really hope you’re doing okay now and that things have improved for you

lmao she really would, the few times I’ve talked to her over the years she really came across that way

I’m really sorry to hear that, I hope things improve for you soon with whenever you have going on there.

As for her knowledge on that stuff I have no idea. She had strong opinions on many many things but was often extremely wrong in them, which was probably the case there as well.

She probably died or at the very least couldn’t keep going. She was easily in her eighties or nineties. The reason I got trapped a second time was because like seven years had passed and I didn’t think it was possible that she was still in there doing it, but then she was lol

lol she kind of was

lol one of two things would have happened, either you’d be immediately banished based entirely on vibes or she’d let you past the barricade that she had built up in the front, and if that happened you really were going to have to force your way out of the store if you ever wanted to leave.

She was at the least extremely memorable in her own way really. But probably the most hateful person I’ve ever met, or close to it. It’s a good thing that it is gone, but also she really was probably the closest to a weirdo John Waters character that I’d had ever met in person. Totally bizarre

You weren’t allowed in if you weren’t local, and even then she often questioned your history and background before she deemed you okay to shop there. I was held against my will in the store on two different occasions for over an hour, I have no idea how she did this since like the seventies.

Yeah no that’s not here in this one, but what it does it does really well

Yeah same, I’m glad that if they were going to mess up that bow that the series had on it that it was at least worth it and I definitely think it was.

Same, I normally am not one to care or pay attention to that but when I heard the numbers that made me really happy.

I had very low expectations going into it but ended up really having a blast with it

I don’t ever really mean to do this, but I always end up writing actually naturalistic dialogue in a bad way and it always drives anyone who looks at it or edits my stuff a little crazy trying to fix it to be more wieldy. I wish I was better with that time economically focused way to approach that.
