I run a managed security awareness program.
Testing shows, that age/intelligence have little to do with falling for these scams. It is more a function of split attention.

They are to busy trying to make the new (industry specific) linkedin. More than a few of my clients trying to make a go of "linked in for authors", "linkedin for entrepeneurs", etc.

This is an issue of function. Not recruitment.
When there is a blue sky FB equivelant (rather than Twitter) I will promote it.. I'm not going to get my mom on this dirt bike, when she needs another brand of car.
